EVGA 121-BL-E756-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX SLI Micro Intel Motherboard
EVGA 121-BL-E756-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 Micro ATX SLI Micro Intel Motherboard

Pros: Excellent board, great overclocker. Did 4200 Mhz on a 920 D0 with 1.40v. Coupled this with g.skill trident ddr3 1600. Board is ultra stable and seems to be extremely well built. ICH raid works extremely well and is ultra fast to go through post.

Cons: post times are rather slow, seems to randomly do complete power off and back on at reboot. With stock speeds it seems to be rather quick at posting, any overclock or manual settings slows it down. If you use this board with an antec mini p180 you cannot put a hard drive in the back spot of the upper drive cage, it will not clear the ram. I put my ssd in back in a silverstone multi carrier and put the 1tb in the front spots. Board has voltage regulation and pwm control on the cpu header, only votlage regulation on the extra. Speed reporting is available on 3 of the 4.

SENNHEISER PC131 3.5mm Connector Over-the-head Headset
SENNHEISER PC131 3.5mm Connector Over-the-head Headset

Pros: Sound is decent, microphone sounds ok.

Cons: The quality of the construction is pitiful at best. They do not fit your head well and are not comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Sennheiser PC161 are only slightly more and 40x better build quality.

Overall Review: Pay the extra, get the PC161 or better.

Intel 710 Series ( Lyndonville) 2.5" SATA II eMLC SSDSA2BZ100G301
Intel 710 Series ( Lyndonville) 2.5" SATA II eMLC SSDSA2BZ100G301

Pros: Very good ssd. Seeing a consistent 200MB/s read and write throughput at roughly 7,000 io/s on 64k blocks. We are using these drives for MySQL servers which write upwards of 500GB in changes per day. Works well with RAID and LSI FastPath Software.

Cons: Price is still 4x what an high endurance MLC drive is.

StarTech.com ROLLOVER Cisco Console Rollover Adapter for RJ45 Ethernet Cable M/F
StarTech.com ROLLOVER Cisco Console Rollover Adapter for RJ45 Ethernet Cable M/F

Pros: Works perfectly! Well designed and very strong, clip is solid and works exactly as expected.

Cons: Rather pricey for being such a simple bit of kit but well worth it to reduce cable clutter.

Overall Review: Using this for a TS3000 linux console server to connect to cisco and juniper console ports. Simply connect this with a straight through cable and your all set.

LSI LSI00292 MegaRAID CacheCade Pro 2.0 Software Pack--Avago Technologies
LSI LSI00292 MegaRAID CacheCade Pro 2.0 Software Pack--Avago Technologies

Pros: Works as expected on correct raid controllers

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Be sure to purchase the hardware key if your LSI controller has the port for it, there is a software license from LSI if you have a more modern card like the 9261. Newegg does not carry the part number. I had to source from CDEW.

OCZ Talos 2 C Series 2.5" Dual-Port SAS 6.0 Gbit/s (Full Duplex/Active-Active) Synchronous Mode Multi-Level Cell (MLC) TL2CSAK2G2M1X-0240
OCZ Talos 2 C Series 2.5" Dual-Port SAS 6.0 Gbit/s (Full Duplex/Active-Active) Synchronous Mode Multi-Level Cell (MLC) TL2CSAK2G2M1X-0240

Pros: Using this in a raid 1 cachecade 2.0 array on an LSI 9261. Read and Write performance is excellent and the ACTIVE/ACTIVE SAS configuration is great for high throughput. Drive is the full thickness of modern 15k 2.5" disk so be sure your sleds are capable.

Cons: None so far, hopefully OCZ has their act together with MLC for enterprise write endurance, guess we will find out in a few months.

Overall Review: Server is running 6x 500GB NL SAS disk in raid 6 with 2x 240GB in R1 as cachecade read/write. Running 2 VMware machines running 50 OpenVZ VPS with cPanel internally with heavy mysql write loads.
