Can be finicky
Pros: -Works! -Stable, once it gets going
Cons: -included USB 3.0 cable is short (unless plugging into outlet directly behind monitor) -lacks necessary USB-AC adapter for consistent use -adapter is kinda bulky with many short cables
Overall Review: This product is a bit of a hit or miss, and actually I struggled with it for a while until I figured out the secret. All in all, to use this product well: 1) Buy a good gold-plated (at least) 6 ft USB (doesn't have to be 3.0) cable extension cable. 2) Make sure the AC adapter you plan to plug this adapter into outputs at least 2.0 A. Don't use a dinky old 0.7 A adapter you have laying around from your 10 year old phone. 3) Use a gold-plated HDMI gender changer to connect your favorite HDMI cable to the adapter, make sure your connection between your computer and adapter is SOLID, but this should allow you to route this cable behind your monitor and out of the way. You do this, this adapter won't let you down and will let you use your "legacy" setup with your fancy displayport monitor or connect multiple computers to different channels (whatever you want to do).
Cable Fixed My Issues!
Pros: -cheap price -high quality -gold plated
Cons: -none
Overall Review: Cable does exactly what you think it should. Cables are high quality, gold plated, and give a consistent signal. Already bought a second one because I was so impressed with the first.
