Freezes Vista 64 Ultimate

EDIMAX EW-7128G Wireless Card IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
EDIMAX EW-7128G Wireless Card IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: I've had one on on older XP system for more than a year, with no problems at all. Consistently good signal strength, never drops off my network.

Cons: I bought one for a new build running Vista 64 Ultimate. It works for the basics. For basic surfing it's fine. Unfortunately large file transfers cause a hard freeze on the whole system - causing a need for manual reset. Items that have triggered the freeze: - Upload large file (over 100kb) to Webmail in IE7 - FTP large file - Copy large file across my home network to or from the machine It registers as the RALINK RT61 chipset in the device manager, and I have uploaded the latest version from the RALINK site (Dec 2008 version - v2.1.3) - but it still freezes even with the latest drivers. I have found posts of similar issues with this chipset and Vista 64.

Overall Review: In my experience - great for XP, but don't bother with Vista 64. I haven't tried with 32 bit Vista, so I have no experience there.
