My new favorite external drive

Pros: Quiet, compact, stays cool, durable case, attractive design, high capacity
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I have a variety of external drives - mostly from LaCie or using enclosures that I packed myself. They all work fine but I must say that my first impression of the Samsung is very favorable. I immediately reformatted it as NTFS and then transferred the contents of a completely full 1TB drive. The transfer ran continuously for 36 hours but the temperature of the case never got higher than warm to the touch. Operational noise is completely silent. The case is made of what appears to be brushed aluminum and, if so, is likely to be far more durable than the plastic cases that LaCie provides. I've only had this for a week but, so far, I couldn't be happier. Samsung's 2TB drives have been announced so I will undoubtedly order one before too long.
Fast and Reliable
Comments: I bought two of these drives a few months ago and installed them in a Firewire enclosure. Since then I have completely filled them up with audio files so I am contemplating another set. I know that IBM/Hitachi got a bad reputation for some earlier models of the Deskstar line of drives but the 120GB and 250GB drives have been totally reliable for me.
