fine while it worked
Pros: Worked as advertised. Quiet.
Cons: However, it began to intermittently fail after 18 months.
nice board, but...
Pros: .
Cons: 1)this is a fairly large MicroATX board -- unfortunately the SATA ports face outward rather than upward making it difficult in a tight box to plug in the cable. I had to find some "left angle" cables to make it work. 2)I had some trouble using the board with my existing Win7 and HDDs. I knew I had to do a clean install but ran into some roadblocks. To make a long story short, Asrock has no phone or chat support. Their email support took 3 days to get back to me and the response was a generic "please contact your dealer for tech support". Come on guys!
a pain to mount
Pros: .
Cons: This is the first upgraded CPU cooler I have used. Unlike the OEM Intel cooler which mounts from the top of the motherboard, this cooler requires screws from the backside. The motherboard must be removed from the case and an awkward upside down screwing is required (that sounds a little dirty!) to seat the cooler on the CPU.
worked for a while
Pros: Read everything I threw at it, but....
Cons: started to have hiccups reading slightly damaged BD and DVD about three months ago. It completely died at 18 months.
