Excellent for what you pay for.
Pros: -Fast processor( 4th Gen i7) -Graphics |GeForce 740M| (Incredible for gaming) -Can play almost every thing on HIgh settings or Ultra. Now I'm not really a graphics freak, I'm there for the experience, and having a graphics card of that multitude is just a plus a long the way. -Build Quality, now this seems to be the tricky area with buying this particular model. Why you ask? Well, to be honest I have no idea. I find the plastic what it should be, it's very sturdy, it feels very light/thin. And along with that the lighted keyboard that is adjustable(yes I said adjustable) is absolutely fantastic. -Sound, the speakers are off the hook. I compare them to my dads Audi speakers, you know the famous Bang & Olufsen that goes in all executive german saloons.
Cons: -Display, not what I expected. But I plan on hooking in up to an external monitor. So it's really not an issue. -Heat, this really isn't an issue (actually it really shouldn't be going in the 'cons' at all) but, there is a hot spot in the right corner touching the side that gets very hot wherever it is placed. Especially if your playing any sort of game that needs some kick to its gear into place. Here's what I'm really getting at, I find it fantastic that this big laptop funnels all the heat to that one corner. Is almost astonishing, Again, here's what I'm actually getting at all the previous laptops that I've had before (Dell, terrible), (HP, Decent but not good enough) have all been black or white with there cooling systems. It either gets all very very very very hot, or you have virtually no heat coming out of the bottom. Both of them broke within a year. This has found a grey area. Funneling it out, Not holding it in.
Overall Review: I choose Windows 7 Pro for a reason. Steam and EA are moving away from Windows 8 support. (I think). Next reason, it seems childish. Like a toy that you play with. Well my technology isn't a toy. And I need it to work 100% of the time. I can't find another laptop like this for the price, of course I wracked up about another $600 in options, but that's because I need a kicka comp. But you really won't find another laptop like this on the market for the same price. You might find the tech in this, on a $1500-1900.
The jokesters.
Pros: None.
Cons: The code I received didn't work. I contacted customer support with my order # and my code. They could not resolve the issue.
Overall Review: I'm incredibly frustrated with Newegg.
Pros: No pros.
Cons: Not a very good card. Plugged it in my computer, and it fried three hours later. Would not recommend to purchase. Heats up very quickly.
