Most Favorable Review

Money well spent! (Especially at the $79 price I got it at for Black Friday)

Hitachi GST Travelstar 7K500 HD20500 IDK/7K 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Retail
Hitachi GST Travelstar 7K500 HD20500 IDK/7K 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive Retail

Pros: I can't recommend this hard drive enough! I had a 320 GB Hitachi 5400 rpm previously, and I really just needed more space, but I saw Newegg had this $30 off for Black Friday, so I decided to go ahead and get the faster 7200 rpm drive. I had heard bad things about Seagate, and my 320 GB had never let me down, so I figured the Hitachi 7200 rpm was a better buy then the Seagate. Boy, was I right! Unbelievably quiet.. I haven't heard a SINGLE click from it in the couple weeks I've been using it, even when I was installing Windows 7 on it. Very fast too; consistent fast speeds made transferring my 50 GB iTunes library a 12 minute process, compared to 1.5 hour process on the 5400. It also stayed cool and didn't drain my battery. BEST BUY EVER.

Cons: NONE. ZERO. Will write if I find any. Installation was almost too easy.

Overall Review: The 500 GB capacity is great, but what makes this awesome is the 7200 rpm speed. Everything just feels... faster.

Most Critical Review

For the price.. can't complain.. I guess

Igrip MINIPOD iPod Suction Mount
Igrip MINIPOD iPod Suction Mount

Pros: The suction cup is amazing, though it feels like where it's connected to the plastic may come off at some point.

Cons: The neck is almost impossible to twist! I worry about breaking it all the time. The instructions were useless too. The little pieces on the bottom used to keep your iPod in don't work very well, and fall out. Also when using an iPod Classic, the foam pads on the sides fall off after a while.

Overall Review: Works, but could be better. For the price who cares I guess.

One of the cheapest "quality" 1440p high-refresh rate monitors, but you get what you pay for.

Acer XG270HU omidpx 27" 2K QHD 2560 x 1440 1ms 144Hz AMD FreeSync Technology Edge-to-Edge Frameless Design DVI-D HDMI DisplayPort Built-in Speakers LED Backlit LCD Gaming Monitor

Pros: This monitor was initially exactly what I wanted. 1440p, 144hz, what could be better? The price you can get these for on sale especially is hard to beat. They also look pretty nice, and the very tiny bezels are a definite pro.

Cons: I bought 2 of these, and starting at about the 1.5 year mark they both started exhibiting extreme light bleed from the top of the monitors, and it is so bad it looks like someone spilled a liquid inside the panels. When the screen has grey tones it is especially noticeable and affects the image on the screen. One also got a solid vertical line that would not disappear. I RMA'd the first and got it back recently, and so far so good, but who knows how long that will last. I am RMA'ing the second one now for the same issue.

Overall Review: These are good for the price, until they aren't.

Perfect for what I needed.

5.25" Internal Tray-Less SATA Mobile Rack for 1 x 3.5" HDD
5.25" Internal Tray-Less SATA Mobile Rack for 1 x 3.5" HDD

Pros: Tray-less design makes swapping HDDs very simple. Just power and SATA connections makes installation easy as well! The ability to lock the front is something I also appreciate, though may not use much outside of LAN parties. LED indicator light isn't too bright.

Cons: Perhaps a bit expensive, but the quality shows.

Overall Review: This was perfect for my needs and has zero problems.

Very good looking cable!

Pros: Works perfectly, it's exactly what I wanted.

Cons: Zero.

A good case with some shortcomings... A great case for the price.

Corsair Vengeance Series C70 Military Green Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Corsair Vengeance Series C70 Military Green Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case has a pleasing color, and a great military motif. It reminds me of an ammo can. Because of the handles, it's also one of the largest easily transportable cases out there. It has a decent amount of rear space (so cable management wasn't horrible). It was nice attention to detail on painting the entire interior the same color, as well as the cable management "brackets" it came with. There are also rubber mounting spacers everywhere, which is great for cutting down on any noise. The latching sides are also awesome! They make entry and exit so easy, and it makes you wonder why it hasn't been thought of before. They fit the motif too. Provides good support for up to six HDD caddies (that have mounting holes for SSD, 2.5 in. HDDs, or things like the HUE+ (which I took advantage of), and three 3.5 in. slots. It also has good cooling options available, with dust covers. The case, fully loaded, is still quite heavy. But that's not something that's Corsair's fault really. I'm the dummy that HAD to have a mid tower for LAN.

Cons: The front of the case is held on with clips, and is not only a pain to get on and off, it feels cheap and lazy, especially coming from other cases that use push button and swinging door options. The dust cover inside the front fascia is also a pain to remove if you need to. The HDD caddies are a bit cheap feeling and aren't secure in their slots. The "tool-less" 3.5 in. design is a good idea, but I've seen it implemented far less shoddily in other cases. There appears to be no option for a hole-less side window... if you don't mount fans there you have a place that's perfect for dust or hair to get into, and also ruins the aesthetics of your interior lighting a bit. On my unit, the reset button did not work. The power button also lacked a lot of feedback, and felt "gummy," but that's minor. The top of the case also feels a bit dated looking, but works just fine.

Overall Review: Things that I would add would be more thumb screws (they're amazing and should be standard by now). I'd also provide a hole-less window design, or at least provide a dust screen. And I'd redesign the way the front opens. And I'd add far more cable management tie down spots on the back plate. I got it on sale for $75 or so, and for that price I recommend it, especially if you're in need of a stylish, sturdy, easily transportable mid tower case for a LAN or whatever. At it's normal price, however, I find it difficult to recommend.
