SILVERSTONE Silver Aluminum front panel, 0.8 mm SECC body Lascala Series LC16S-M ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Comments: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16827152053 I watched this case for a while to see if it would go on sale because I was hesitant to spend what the case cost on it. Well, I got tired of waiting and went ahead and ordered. Lets just say it is worth every penny. Everything works awesome and it was pretty easy to assemble. The only issue I had was wiring up the firewire connection to the motherboard (it seems like the case had a different 1394 connector than what the mo board socket was made to accept). Other than that, no complaints. Very quite and very sharp looking. I put a silver NEC DVD burner in it (link below) and it looks awesome. The aluminum optical drive door on the case is very smooth operation and gives the case a high-end look. The media buttons on the case, the VFD, and the remote also all work perfect. Very nice touches. If you're building a HTPC and you are thinking about this case, don't hesitate to get it!

Most Critical Review

Will never know what could have been...

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: It looked awesome... but I would like it to actually run and not just be eye candy.

Cons: I went through 3 motherboards and had the same issue with all 3 and have seen multiple reviews reporting the same issue. If I installed a proc, video card and connected a power suplly, (regardless of the multiple memory configurations I tried) the power would just continue to cycle and I never got any video. If I pulled the proc, the board acted like it was starting, fans were powered, & the lights on the board lit up but there was never any video. I tried 2 different video cards, that both worked on another Gigabyte MoBo (a different model) I already had, but I could not get a signal from either. I tried different memory configurations since I read reviews where users had issues with dual-channel kits so I tried just one stick and even no sticks and nothing. I tried removing the board from the case because I read reviews where occasionally others would have issues with the board shorting in the case but still no luck.

Overall Review: I would have say it was a video card issue if I wasn't able to put the card in another pc and have it work so there must be an obvious MoBo issue. Whether it's an undocummented support issue for the video cards I tried (one being ATI & the other is Nvidia) or something else that is neither addressed in the manual or site. I contacted Gigabyte support and after waiting on hold for 45 minutes for a "support" tech, I finally got someone who rudely stated that I wasn't allowing him to talk and put me back on hold when I all I did was try to list off what troubleshooting steps I took so far. Apparently he is a magical wizard and already knew what I had tried and was going to be able to give me new things to try, I guess. Anyway, the whole experience really soured me on Gigabyte and so I would not recommend purchasing this or ANY other Gigabyte product. Furtunately, Newegg was awesome throughout the ordeal and allowed me try more than one board without being financially penalized for it

Great buy

Comments: Totally worth the money. Very reliable DVD burner that burns fast and so far, hasn't made any coasters for me yet. Also, if you are building a HTPC, the silver color looks great with most aluminum cases.
