Good Motherboard, Quick Warranty Service
Pros: Worked out of the box with Ryzen7 Second Generation. Warranty service was excellent.
Cons: It's not clear what shipping methods affiliate sellers use, and I would rather have some things delivered to my door by UPS or FEDEX rather than picking them up at the post office because they won't fit in my mailbox -- especially now with coronavirus, who wants to wait in line at the post office?
Overall Review: I paired this with a 2nd gen Ryzen 7 and 32 GB of compatible ram. All 32 GB of ram showed in BIOS with the message that only 16 GB was available. So I figured a BIOS update may allow the board to use all 32GB of RAM. Apparently, while attempting the BIOS update, I locked up the board, I'm pretty sure I forgot to format the USB flash drive properly for a BIOS update. After contacting ASUS and explaining the situation I received an RMA# for warranty repair. Very quickly the service center tested the board, updated the BIOS and shipped it back. The board is now reinstalled, working and reading all 32 GB of RAM as well. If I were building another computer today I would buy this motherboard again. I would also consider a similar mobo with dual BIOS. One small thing that could be improved would be to add a diagram of the wiring/pins for the power, reset and HD LED. You have to look it up online and it's still confusing. The manual has diagrams showing where and how things connect up, so why not just add one more diagram for these?
