Instructions wrong, but drive is awesome.
Pros: Booting windows is so incredibly fast I'm in awe. Once I figured out how to clone my drive, installation was smooth and quick.
Cons: The instructions were outright incorrect. Upon running the included software, I was told I had to install Norton Ghost. No disc was included. The instructions stated I could download the ghost software via a link, so I did so, ran it, and then discovered the drive clone feature was disabled because the Ghost software was not registered. After some Googling, I finally found out that Samsung has a different software now (from Clonix), but was unable to easily find that information on the Samsung site or anywhere in the instructions. VERY aggravating. Why not just include the software on the CD? After finally getting the new software installed, the first message I received was along the lines of "Destination drive not large enough. Increase size of destination drive to run software." Since the new drive was the same size as the old drive, I was a bit confused. Well, reading the fine print, it turns out that you need a 20% buffer, so I had to remove a bunch of files from the old drive before I could clone. I understand the need, but what I don't understand is why they didn't have the pop-up message just say that? "Increase destination size OR decrease data on originating drive by 20%"
Overall Review: Once I got the correct software (http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/samsungssd/downloads.html), reduced the content on my original drive by about 50GB, and ran the software, everything else went well. Cloned the drive, swapped it out, booted up and it ran without a hitch... only MUCH faster. I'm very happy with the drive, I just HAD to remove an egg for the installation confusion.
just... terrible
Pros: Nice selection of bits
Cons: Worthless materials. The tightener refuses to stay tightened, and the plastic is cheap. Tried dismantling a laptop, and this tool was incapable of loosening any screw that was tight in the least.
Overall Review: For $6.99 and free shipping, I figured the deal couldn't be beat, even with some of the other negative reviews. But the frustration of having a computer half-unbuilt and realizing you don't have the tool for the job? Not exactly priceless.
