DIAMOND TVW650PCIE ATI TV Wonder HD 650 Combo

Pros: Provides good HDTV (coupled with Vista's Media Center).

Cons: FM reception is terrible. ATI Software is pretty limited, and does not display HDTV fullscreen. I found that unacceptable, so I opted to use Vista's Media Center instead, which works much better.

Pros: Running Vista Ultimate and the card does everything that I needed. HD broadcast TV works good. The video quality and sound are excellent. I can play a game and watch TV at the same time. LOL.

Cons: The manufacturer's support site is not very good. Make sure you keep your install disk because you will have problems downloading files from the manufacturer.

Overall Review: It takes time to set-up the channels, etc... You need to be patient.

Pros: This TV tuner card is the best in the market today. Excellent picture quality. High definition. I am so impreesed that I purchased another one for my second computer. I use them to record local off the air HD broadcast signals. I have a very powerful outdoor antenna set up in my attic just for this.

Cons: The bundled Cyberlink-Titan recording and playback software could use some improvement. The TV guide does not work. When I contacted ATI technical support, I received the following reply: "Titan and Cyberlink have been notified of the issue and are working on addressing it. Currently, there is no workaround available." Currently not able to pre-program TV recordings in advance.

Overall Review: Strongly recommended if you want to capture HD television bradcasts.

Pros: I guess it displayed good quality ota hdtv - I have nothing to compare it with.

Cons: Documentation was absolutely horrible. Couldn't ever get the remote to work with my IR sensor in my case (Antec Fusion). The manual was about 3 pages and seemed like it was translated incorrectly. Pointed out some stipulations between the manual in the box and the manual on the CD.

Overall Review: I RMA'd 2 of these for 2 AVerMedia PCIe Combo's- I hear those are better cards and has an official MCE remote. Newegg of course rocks with shipping and customer service!!!

Pros: Everything! First I installed this in Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Booted to Vista and it installed its own drivers. Went through the Media Center Set up and it found everything just fine. (it said the signals were low, but I could get them just fine). Some stations skip, but thats because I'm pretty far away from the signal (and in the basement). Recorded 4 episodes of the office that night and was amazed at the HDTV quality. XP, I tried to see if there was any more up-to-date drivers/software on the web site but to tough to find. So I installed the one on the disc. Everything installed fine. The ATI software is pretty basic. I do get more channels (23) and I would say the signal is better (using the ATI drivers) But over all great picture quality. The Scheduled Recording does it behind the seen. (so you can still surf the web with out worrying about it). A+++++++++++++++++

Cons: Vista down side, I'm guessing this has to do with Media Center in vista, but I don't get as many channels as I do on the XP side (with the ATI drivers). ATI software in XP is way basic. You can view the programs list, but you can't change the channel while viewing this list or Schedule a recording you have to do that in another screen (same with Radio.) Also you can only record Radio into WMV (Windows Media Format) I wish You could record straight to MP3. I can't get the Multi View to work very well. That isn't that big of deal to me (sense I'm doing digital). I didn't even try the included AMD Live (which is like Windows Media Center) I already heard it was not worth it so I haven't tried it yet. I will try other free online PVR programs.

Overall Review: The last grip I have is when recording TV on high quality it records in MPEG2 format, but it can only record up to 3.92 GB (which is big) but it then splits my shows, and I'm have trouble finding a program that can edit and join (and convert) this format. (Vista Movie Maker can, but I have to convert to Windows Media format, but it is HD) But over all I am pleased with it! ATI needs to update the software they use for it (it probably has been around for a while) But compared to others its not that great! But I bought this when it had the $40 rebate (the cost of an HDTV Antenna) so Over all I'm pleased very well!

Pros: Works flawlessly with windows MCE. Great product if you have Vista home premium, or Vista Ultimate

Cons: Software that came with the product is useless.

Overall Review: Other reviewers really need to read the description before purchasing. THIS IS ONLY FOR WINDOWS 2005 MCE, VISTA HOME PREMIUM OR VISTA ULTIMATE. If you have Vista Business, why on earth did you think it would work?

Pros: Good quality reception

Cons: Generates BSOD during the installation. This turned out to be the DVD decoder component that was causing it and not the driver as I initially suspected. When I don't install the DVD decoder it seems fine. As others have stated the software leaves much to be desired - can't retrieve schedule and it says it can't recognize a DVD drive - although it still plays the DVD movies.

Overall Review: Flaky software ruining what is technically a decent product.

Pros: Excellent TV tuner card. Works as advertised. I use it to watch over the air HDTV programs on my screen projector. Very impressive.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Highly recommended.
