You’ll love the clarity as much as the “thump”. The S10.3 delivers both with ease. This is another Energy no-compromise subwoofer…it’s purpose-built to make everything you listen to sound amazing.
200 watts of RMS power from the built-in amplifier gives it plenty of grunt to make the deepest bass resound. Plus, the S10.3 subwoofer black ash veneer blends with most of Energy’s speaker lines and looks great next to any flat panel display.
Powerful BassA bass-reflex design with down-firing ports, the S10.3 has a 10-inch composite cone with Ribbed Elliptical Surround. This proprietary design dramatically reduced surround distortion, letting it go lower with greater output and fidelity. An efficient internal power amplifier with 200-watt RMS FTC (800-watt dynamic) brings listening to a whole new level.
Ease of UseThe S10.3 features line and speaker level inputs, as well as a variable low-pass filter for seamless integration with a wide variety of speakers, including Energy’s C-Series and Take Series. The subwoofer also has a power mode switch that turns it on and off automatically, based on the presence of an audio signal.
Pros: cost to benefit ratio is high, sub blends well, great lows, easy to control the output, not boomy or underpowered like many $200-300 subs
Cons: larger than many 10" powered subs, BUT, that box size is one of the reasons it goes as low as it does.
Overall Review: excellent value for the $$ at present you can net shop and get the klipsch synergy 10 aka sub10 and the jbl es 10 for similar money. without having heard any of the 3 and even more important, heard them in a similar room; i chose the energy based on it's ability to go lower than the other two serious contenders.
