An advanced flatbed scanner for demanding photo-and-film tasks, Epson's Perfection 4990 Photo features a built-in transparency unit with a moving light source that scans up to twenty-four 35mm negatives simultaneously, or transparencies as large as 8x10 inches. As part of its style-conscious design, the 4990 provides an illuminated scan progress indicator so you'll never have to guess when your scans are completed.

Epson used its Color MatrixCCD (Charge-Coupled Device) sensor to deliver scans with resolutions up to a 4,800dpi resolution and 48-bit color depth, giving you precise color and detail, whether scanning slides, negatives, or photos.With Epson's Digital ICE Technologies you can easily remove dust and scratches from film, and many types of surface defects from prints, minimizing costly retouching. And, with the convenient film holders included, you can even batch scan multiple slides and negatives to increase productivity.

The unit features both FireWire and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connections. A full software suite is included featuring LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast SE 6, Adobe Photoshope Elements, ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus OCR, Epson Copy Utility, and Epson Scan with Epson Easy Photo Fix Technology.
