EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G1 120-G1-1000-VR 80+ GOLD 1000W Fully Modular

Pros: This just replaced an older power supply Ive been using for a few years now. Its 100% modular, great design for the most part, and can be installed in any direction your case supports. It has multiple screw mount holes to adapt to your case, so fitting isnt an issue. This is quite possibly the best part, because if you install this on the bottom, the fan will just suck up dirt from the floor. The finish is absolutely amazing too. I also like how they simplified the cables without bundling them up. This makes the cables flat, so they lay flat against everything when doing cable management. This worked against me since my case is smaller, but I plan on correcting that in the near future hopefully. Its also fairly quiet. I hear my case fans more than anything.

Cons: I knocked 3 eggs off because of this serious issue - the plugs for the vga cables on the power supply are flawed. I literally had to force the plugs into each slot to get them to seat. Looking closely at them, I can tell I pushed a pin in, and probably damaged it. It functions, so Im glad I dont have to RMA this thing after having just received this item. Its not that the male connectors didnt fit the female connectors, a pin didnt line up with a specific plug...and it was the same pin that was misaligned on ALL OF THEM. Every single vga male end would not fit every single vga female end due to the same plug on each of them. This should be corrected immediately. Ive never had an issue with EVGA's quality before this. Although this isnt much of an issue with me, it "could" be an issue later down the road, and it most definitely could be an issue for others as well. This can literally be damaged just by installation. Hopefully they will fix this.

Overall Review: Its actually a really good psu so far. Ive only had it for 24 hours though, so time will tell.

Pros: 1. Fully modular, allowing you to use exactly what you need and avoid additional clutter. 2. Black cables, matching any color scheme involving black without the multi colored wiring. 3. Power efficient 4. Silent operation

Cons: 1. The reason I gave 4 stars is because I received 2 power supplies dead on arrival (DOA) in a row, meaning I was without my desktop for over a month. The first one I kept for a week or so as I went through troubleshooting steps. After finding it could not power even a single fan I sent it in for RMA through Newegg, paying about $15 for shipping . The second one still did not power my now breadboard setup. I called EVGA customer service and they walked me through a few steps to test it and it was DOA. EVGA offered to cross ship a new one which took 3 days to arrive. The third one finally worked! Powered up my system on first try and is still going strong. Conclusion If you buy this and think it is DOA, call EVGA and let them help you troubleshoot and cross ship if necessary. You will pay nothing and receive a replacement much more quickly than the Newegg RMA process.

Pros: I don't know why everyone complains about the length of the cables. I have a corsair obsidian 750D full tower and i didn't have a single issue with the length. i was able to hide everything PERFECTLY and there is amazing airflow. the cables are so much easier to work with also. i had a corsair tx750 for my last build and corsair treated me very well but I'm a super fan of evga so i chose it this go around and have to say i love the cable style better. There is so much more flexibility over corsair cables.

Cons: None at all.

Pros: Steady power. No issues. My first modular. So nice to not have unused cables. Helped my airflow in some areas. Rebate came back 6.5 weeks after I mailed the forms.

Cons: Flat cables kinda suck. I prefer round shielded but I knew this before I bought it.

Pros: First let me start with the PSU has excellent reviews out there from reputable tech sites. What you are getting is a solid gold PSU based on theSuper Flower Leadex platform. The psu has fantastic aesthetics and even under load doesn't have noticeable fan noise.

Cons: YMMV but the length of the 8 pin CPU cable is too short making it difficult to route and tie down behind motherboard trays in full tower cases. The size of the PSU is also rather large so take that into consideration if you are planning on utilizing bottom mounted fan slots.

Pros: This baby been powering my war machine for over 2 years now and still giving it a few more years

Overall Review: if you're a show off you might want to buy different cables but the ones that comes with are doing a good job

Pros: 1kW of continuous power delivery. 80Plus Gold efficiency which is negligibly lower than Platinum. (2%) All cables are ribbon with no sleeving and all black. Has two pure 6-pin connectors so no dangling 2-pin most other PSUs will have. I can't test PSUs the same way other sources can, but it's EMI noise and ripple are extremely tight by the standards of those sources. I can safely say even with ultra cheap headphones that love playing all the EMI noise coming from your PC; I hear no EMI noise from my PC. This is impressive. ^The above is a C&P from my previous review: "EVGA PSUs are definitely on top."

Cons: Only two possible complaints: 1; The fan grill isn't supported by ANYTHING so don't try to hold the PSU by that or it'll bow inward. 2; The afore mentioned 6-pin connectors are not dedicated. They split off from their primary 8-pin in an extremely LONG parallel that I had to loop twice to get it looking reasonably clean. Seriously, it's about 4" (75mm) long. It should've only been long enough to swap which side of the 8-pin it was on. I can think of only one scenario where you could connect two devices on one cable, and that's extremely obscure and too ridiculous to mention. ^The above is a C&P from my previous review: "EVGA PSUs are definitely on top." Now for the third complaint: It spontaneously died less than 9 months later. My PC shuts down while not being particularly stressed, does not power-on with the power button. I turn off the PSU itself for ~30 seconds and when I turn it back on my system begins to power-on. Now I have mouse activity power-on enabled in my UEFI, so not strange it would immediately power-on. About 10 seconds into power-on I hear a crackling and sure enough sparks and flames are literally shooting out the back of my VRM heatsink. Turned off the PSU again and began the wonderful process of playing "find the part that failed" with my available collection of working parts while considering both the motherboard and in kind the CPU potentially dead. Testing a known working motherboard and CPU on this PSU resulted in a POST error code I have yet to identify with every attempt to power-on. Swapping the SuperNOVA 1000 G1 (Flextronic OEM) to a now 7y/o Antec NeoPower650 (SeaSonic OEM) allowed the system to POST and boot and I was thankfully up and running again.

Overall Review: The icing on the cake here; this all happens literally less than a week away from my birthday, and so close to Christmas money is tight for everyone. Especially those like myself with an income below poverty. I do in fact know a LOT about PCs; how to build, maintain, optimize, get the most performance for your money and much more. Yet for all I know about PCs I have had the worst luck when it comes to failure rates. Since 2008 I have had two ASUS 26" 1920x1200 Monitor failures; an ASUS HD4850 Matrix cooling fan failure; an ASUS M4A79T Deluxe motherboard failure; a Biostar TA990FXE failure (resolved replaced CMOS battery); a G.Skill Trident X 2x8GB DDR3 2400MHz failure (works at 1600MHz); an Antec Kuler920 pump failure; and a Coolermaster Glacer 240L pump failure while keeping it running low RPM. All in no particular order. This not including minor peripherals. I swear I am cursed...

Pros: Good quality full cable set, labeling, and external construction.

Cons: Poor internals, bad caps

Overall Review: Unit arrived DOA with my equipment order. Checked with included jumper and test rig motherboard. Looked inside through the fan grill with a flashlight and noticed a bulging capacitor. Review will be updated pending arrive of RMA replacement.
