EVGA GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 015-P3-1480-AR

Pros: -Card is sleek. Very well built. Better looking than most every other card out there (if that matters to you). -Installed with no issues. EVGA has awesome software for monitoring and overclocking. -Runs amazing. Bad Company 2 at 1920x1080 with EVERYTHING maxed, including HBAO on, it easily ran 60-90 FPS. -Turned on Nvidia 3D Vision with the same settings above, 30-45 FPS for each eye. Runs great, looks amazing. -At 70% fan speed (no louder than regular case fans), never went above 80º while in game, and sits at around 43º-45º idle. -Without a doubt, the best video card I have ever owned (I replaced my 5870 with this GTX 480 to play in 3D).

Cons: -I have not found any cons, yet. -I wish more would come in stock so I could go SLI.

Overall Review: Many of the original fears seem to be dispelled in just a few hours of playing. It runs amazing, and is not quite as hot as reviewers would want you to beleive. Just set the fan speed to 70-80%using EVGA's nifty software, and it will stay in acceptable temperatures. If you're getting a GTX 480, do yourself a favor and pick up Nvidia 3D Vision kit and a 120Hz monitor. Stereoscopic 3D is the ONLY way to play, and once you try it out, you will never willingly go back!

Pros: Nvidia have done us proud with this card. Excellent ability in games with the highest settings, great benchmarking scores and the ability to overclock all make this card worth the price point and certainly the fastest single gpu. I bought two, I have installed one for now - for comparison's sake. Thanks newegg and thanks to F5! 3Dmark Vantage with core i7@3.6ghz was ~21000 with this card on stock clocks. Not surprising, just about where it should be. Crysis Warhead on max settings (AA, everything to max) ran ~40fps... I was amazed, my gtx 260's in sli would not run this. I'm impressed with this card and am happy with the purchase. I almost went to ATI but the fact Evga does not sell those cards and with the problematic drivers... I am glad I held out for this instead.

Cons: At this point, none that I can find.

Overall Review: Average temps range from Idle@35-40C MaxLoad@75-85C with Fan set at 60%. You do not notice the fan noise until about 70% and 75% is noticeable. Higher than that is a bit annoying, but hey... ALL video cards' fan speed above 75% are annoying. The problems with heat and noise just aren't there. There is no difference between my old gtx 260 and this card in that regard. Even hardwarecanucks admit that the heat and noise are non-issues and entirely blown out of proportion on the net. You really cannot go wrong buying this if you can afford it. Quick note on power usage - I've found it to be more or less reasonable with 1 card. Core i7 overclocked system running 1 dvd drive, 1 ssd and 1 std hard drive, several fans with an 850w corsair psu... My ups reported 405w max during benchmarking. Adding another 480 shouldn't put it above 700-750w I wouldn't think. Overall...power shouldn't be an issue in SLi with 850w psu's. Don't expect to overclock them much though.

Pros: -High cost/efficiency in the top level cards market. You can easy OC to 810/1620/2100. If U guys saw the article about GTC480 OC in GURU3D, U know U can OC more, this is a great video card with great OC potential. It can be easy beat ATi 5970 which is much more expensive and use two 5870 GPU in many tough 3D games! -It's EVGA, sweet warranty and quality. -In many cases of non-OC situation u never mention the fan noise. Fan speed never go upper 8x% even full load. By default the driver sets power management mode to Adaptive which means if you're no longer use 3D apps the core clock will soon downclock to 51MHz and save you money! -Unigine Heaven 2.0 runs so smooth and Crysis/Crysis Warhead, BFBC2, Just Cause2 is not a thing!

Cons: -When setting to 100%Fan Speed manually, yes it is so noise. -Lack of supplies even now

Pros: Performance, Performance, Performance. Did I mention the raw performance of this card. No seriously this is a awesome card when it comes to performance. I upgraded from SLI'ED GTX 260's and the difference is amazing. This is the best single GPU card available on the market now. Got an EVGA since they have a lifetime warranty and EVGA Step-up.*** Seriously If you buy this card from EVGA and are capable of Registering It (Oh, no that is impossible to compile!!!, just BSOD'ED) within 30 days of purchase: (tell them what they get Bob, a lifetime warranty, WOW that's amazing, what a concept, I can't believe it). The goodies: 1536MB VRAM 384-bit GDDR5 700MHZ Central GPU OC to 800MHZ 480 CUDA CORE'S @ 1400MHZ can hit 1600MHZ 48 ROPS (Raster Operators) (Don't have to worry about freezing to death this winter since i have this cool new space heater to ward off the frostbite. I feel warm and tingly just thinking about it.) Oh, almost Forgot to mention that: NEWEGG ROCKS!!!!

Cons: HEAT, Cooler that the good old G80 core at Idle thanks to the GPU's ability to conserve power and down-clock. Hotter than G80 at load. Exceeded 89C @ 75% fanspeed set in EVGA precision in CM Stacker 830 EVO with 2 120mm fans blowing right on it. Antec tri-cool 79CFM. Ambient temps at house in PA around 75F with high humidity. Heat and humidity destroy effectiveness of air cooling. Yeah People complain about heat but this is an enthusiast component, with 3.2 billion transistor's @ 40nm its not going to set records for low temp's, get over it. besides that's what the lifetime warranties for :-)). GPU fan is noticeable @ 75% and up in my case over all other fans combined, but who cares that's what headphones were invented for right? On another note I wish XFX was manufacturing this card since i have been a loyal XFX customer since i was born.(not really but you get the point). Considered purchasing a XFX 5870 instead which is a great product also but maybe i will just for fun. Go AMD

All powered by PSU: Ultra X3 1000W _______________________________________________ To build or not to build a 6 or 8 core AMD system that is the question. It's good to see competition between AMD and Intel heat up along with ATI giving Nvidia hell, I think the next year with prove to yield some impressive products from both competitors and that will only benefit me and you the consumer. Pros: The eVGA GTX 480 simply is a sweet card. It overclocks better than my Gigabyte 480 and it runs a few degree's cooler. I'm very happy with it. These cards Minimum FPS in gaming is one of those points that is overlooked a little, but makes a Huge difference in gaming

Cons: Nothing really, Heat even though these cards are NO where near as hot as reviewers said they are. Mine idle at 41 and 45c in SLI and load around 80c max unless heavily pushed.

Overall Review: I'll be water-cooling mine this week with a DD block. I've been able to push my eVGA 480 to 870/1740/2100 so far with Afterburner at 1.113v. This makes it a beast!

Pros: Fastest SINGLE GPU right now. Really shines when anti-aliasing is concerned. AA scales very well across all games (Crysis 16x, Bad company 32x!) without impacting FPS. Can run Metro 2033 Max settings 1920x1200 at 45-60 fps average! If you can SLI them you will be able to have Vsync on, Max everything, and max 32xAA without a dip in FPS!

Cons: Nothing

Overall Review: Under load (Crysis 16Xaa, 1920x1200, and Metro 2033 max settings) it reached 85C. The card specs reveal it can operate normally up to 105C, so its not a concern. Fan isnt loud at all. Overall im extremely satisfied with this purchase. Has a lifetime warranty, and a free t-shirt!

Cons: It runs pretty hot, reaching 90 degrees under heavy loads. I'm going to have to grab some extra fans to keep the case temps down.

I haven't decided whether to overclock it or not. Maybe if I can get the temps down a bit I will give it a go. Also, EVGA's warranty can't be beat. Overclocking and after-market cooling covered? Yes please!

Pros: Upgraded from a GTX260 and it was worth it. I mostly game and I feel I definitely got my moneys worth. Games like Just Cause 2, Metro 2033, AvP etc all look and play smooth, I feel I may be bottlenecking my CPU though (See specs). So far the card does not seem to be running very hot at all in fact it seems to run cooler then my 260 card, two intake fans on the side of the case with 2 exhaust.

Cons: Availability. Had to upgrade my old PSU (ultra 550w) to an Ultra 750w no big deal though its expected.
