Overall Review: I’m an international buyer. First of all I would thank Newegg & UPS for selling & shipping me this product to my country at amazing price point. Over here prices of computer parts are outrageous. Talking about the product. Man where should I start…… It’s EVGA. Build quality is amazing. Zero coil whine at max rpms too. Card is a beast plays any game you throw at it in high/ultra @ 1440p. Temps are satisfactory. Since I’m from Asia and bought this card in USA, EVGA refused to offer me the CODMW game code that’s the only disappointing thing, Other than that you don’t have to think twice to buy this card. I would recommend to anyone on this brand who is planning to buy a RTX 2070 Super. This is my first purchase and I had a wonderful experience with Newegg & their online customer service and hoping to buy more from you guys in the future.

Pros: Very Quiet, even in demanding games i hardly hear the fans
Very powerful
Low temp at idle and underload
overall manufacturing is very well done, from the backplate to the fans everything is put together nicely
RGB looks nice.

Cons: the RGB lighting patterns are very basic, a little variety would have been nice rather than the 5 EVGA precision allows.

Overall Review: in my system the card sits at 32c idle with fans off, they turn on around 50-55c and even under a max load the highest temp ive seen is 72c with default fan profile and clock.

looks to be easily overclock-able though right out the box i got a core clock of 1980Mhz so i havent seen a need to oc yet.

very happy with this card so far.

Cons: Worst coil whine/buzzing I've ever experienced. Unusable at this noise level.

Overall Review: --Update Review--

I've received my replacement. This card, while not as bad as the original, still has very audible coil whine. I contacted EVGA for some advice. They recommended the following to troubleshoot:

1) Try using it in a different PC to make sure it's not being cause by my hardware instead of the GPU
2) Running Unigine Heaven benchmark for an extended amount of time.
3) Turn on frame limits/v-sync to prevent the card from reaching high frames per second. (High fps is the whole reason I got the card in the first place...)

I tried all with no success. I'm returning again for a replacement. Other reviews state their card doesn't have coil whine, so that gives me hope, but it's rather disappointing that this is a common issue and I have to resort to replacement in hopes I get a good one.

--Original Review--

My previous GPU (1060 6GB) had some minor coil whine while under heavy load, but this is on a whole new level. Any amount of load (e.g. an auto play video in the corner of a news website) will make an obnoxious buzzing noise, and will get worse the higher the load (e.g. any video game).

If you are using a UPS battery backup, you may want to test your system without the UPS hooked up to your power supply. This can be caused due to irregularities on how the power is being passed onto the power supply which can affect your other components and cause coil whine to be

Pros: Very fast and amazing framerates in 4k! Eats up every game I play. From BF V to Atlas, this card rocks!

Cons: Card is very big, actually touching my M.2 heatsink. Need to run EVGA's free Precision X software to control temperature. The factory settings have the fan at 40% which is not enough to control temps during gaming. Easy fix, just set up your custom fan curves and youre good to go. Their free software is very good.

Overall Review: It is a 2070 and it runs as you would expect. I'm going to use this space to talk about EVGA instead. I have been building PC's since 1997 and started gaming during the dial up days. Ive dealt with many manufacturers and many brands. EVGA has the best customer service hands down. Recently I had my EVGA 1070Ti fail. I went on to their website, registered my card with the serial number and followed the instructions for an RMA. One of the steps it to call in and speak with their tech support. Well, one or two choices down the phone tree I was talking to an American tech support agent who was very friendly. We had a brief talk and he issued my RMA without question. I mailed in my video card and within two days I got an email that they received my card and they were sending a replacement. 4 days later, my card arrived.

Here is where EVGA stood apart from every other manfacturer I have ever dealt with. I did not get a new or refurbished 1070Ti, they sent me a 2070 Black Gamer Edition!!!! They sent me a brand new version of the card I had! This never happens. I once returned an MSI 280 GTX and they sent me a 7900GT for a replacement. No where near as good and no where near the value. I called MSI and the guy told me ( in very very broken english) thats their policy and deal with it. Not EVGA, nope they not only replaced my card, they replaced it with a MUCH BETTER one. Spend the money and never have to worry, buy EVGA.
I will support and use EVGA exclusively. Thank you EVGA for your amazing service!

If your system is restarting when this new graphics card is installed, I do recommend that you test this graphics card in a different system to see if the symptoms are replicated on that system. The minimum power supply requirements for this graphics card is 650 watts, so you do want to ensure that your power supply is capable of handling this graphics card. -Looks good in my case with the LED customization options

Cons: -Pretty bad coil whine. Seriously, why can’t EVGA figure out how to make a card that doesn’t have coil whine!? This always seems to be an issue for them.

Overall Review: I would recommend this card to anyone looking for a good upgrade right now. However, be warned that the coil whine can get pretty annoying, especially if you don’t game with a headset.

Great card aside from the coil whine.. 10/22/2019 8:48:39 AM

Pros: Card runs super cool and quiet. Runs all my games at great FPS, and came with MW.

Cons: THE COIL WHINE. I replaced my GTX 1080 with a 5700 XT (which I then gave to my gf), and got this 2070 Super. Immediately upon loading up Heaven 4.0, there was an extremely audible and loud whine coming from the card. I tested it in multiple computers and in an eGPU enclosure and the coil whine persisted in all setups. I ended up getting an advanced RMA from EVGA and just got my replacement card today. This one STILL has coil whine, though noticeably less.. so I guess I'll be living with this one and keeping it.

Overall Review: EVGA says that a small amount of coil whine is expected and continually try to blame the PSU/power source for it. My ITX build has a Corsair SF750W Plat, my gf's desktop has a Seasonic 850W Plat, eGPU enclosure is an Akitio Node Pro which has a dedicated 500w SF PSU. This really seems like horrid quality control, and if you're at all chasing a 'silent' PC, this card will ruin it. My ITX build sits on my desk which makes it further audible, if you keep your desktop on the floor away from your desk maybe it won't be as bad.
