Great PSU

Pros: Quiet, stable, good price with modularity

Cons: A little more choice in the cables would be nice, I just dislike have extra bits hanging off here and there

Other Thoughts: I had always run Enermax since my first PC in the early 2000's, but they didn't really keep competitive with other manufacturers, costing notably more for the same features. So, decided to try other brands, I used Seasonic, which had horrid coil whine, it was the PSU that introduced me to that particular problem. So when I got around to replacing it, made sure the PSU had minimal if any reviews with coil whine complaints. FSP was one of the few that I didn't notice any mention of it, and upon further research, decided to go for it. So far at least, no complaints (about 2 years in now)

FSP HG650

Pros: Packaged well
Plenty of cables for connections

Cons: Clicked, but that was it.

Other Thoughts: This PS had 7 five star reviews, that's why I bought it, DOA was the last thing I expected. No problem with refund from New Egg, ordered CX650M, will return this PS in that box. It is the best packaged PS I've ever purchased, but if it doesn't work, what are you gonna do, I got a refund and went with something I've used before.

Update 4/19/2017, installed Corsair CX650M, pressed the power button, fired right up!

FSP - When only the best will do!

Pros: Built for long term durability !

Cons: Nothing!.. it runs like a dream! cannot even hear it 99.9 of time.

Other Thoughts: FSP creates everything themselves with only the best parts - over 20 years of rock solid performance! . Not a sticker brand!

A reliable power supply unit is a must have foundation to having a system running it's best without phantom issues due to poor power delivery. in 20 years this was my 4th one for my personnel rig but have installed hundreds in customer builds with zero issues! in the last 2 decades!

Built like a tank

Pros: - Heavy and very well made
- Cables are long and easy to route
- Quiet

Cons: Makes a *click* sound when PC is turned on or off (like a stereo system)

Other Thoughts: - Get this over other brands, you will not regret it

FSP Group Hydro G Series HG650 650W

Pros: So far so good. It got good reviews from Johnny Guru and Tom's Hardware. It's quite and looks good in my black and white build. The teal accent even matches the real scent on my Asus mobo and EVGA 970 SSC Fully modular (easier install, all black cables, easier to upgrade to sleeved cables to match build theme) comes with stickers to match theme RGB.

Cons: Expensive even after mail in rebate this isn't cheap. I'm kind of hoping it's not cheap and I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of it.

Other Thoughts: I wish they had more color themed stickers to buy separate. I'm actually not a big fan of the blue on the sticker. I went with this PSU over the plethora of options because it was fully. Modular and mostly black and white. I wish there was a black and white sticker with no blue.

Great Value

Pros: I've used FSP for more than a decade and they have never let me down. This unit is just an all around good power supply for a performance oriented PC. Whisper quiet (I've not noticed the fan run at all, even under a CPU stress test), never gets hot. Clean power delivery, rails are all within a couple percent of where they should be, according to BIOS measurements.

Cons: If you mount the power supply at the bottom of your case, the SATA power connectors are backwards. Not sure this can be a con, as they have to choose one or the other... but they are made to daisy chain when the PSU is mounted from above. You can still daisy chain with it mounted at the bottom, but you either have to put the closest connector (to the PSU) to the furthest drive first (then it daisy chains downward), or if you start at the lowest drive, you have to twist the connector 180 degrees on each drive, which is awkward. I had to do the latter, as the first SATA connector in the chain would not reach my uppermost drive.

Other Thoughts: I chose to spend a little bit more than I usually would this time around, mostly for the FSP brand and the modular connectors, which I've never used before. In hindsight, the modular connectors I could have done without (I have a huge case and know how to use wire ties), but I certainly don't mind spending the extra money to get a great, reliable PSU, which this is. I feel good knowing my money hasn't gone to marketing, fancy logos, cool lights, but instead went mostly to R&D, and a great PSU manufacturer that builds dependable power supplies. Hope they made a few dollars in profit so they can keep doing what they do.

No issues

Pros: FSP has always made great PSUs
good amount of cables, all nice and long.

Cons: somewhat tighter fit in mATX cases due to being a bit longer than other 650w, but you get better quality for it

Other Thoughts: I've always been able to count on FSP PSUs, i still have some that are 10+ years old (back when it was PC power and cooling). about 15 purchased, and only 1 that needed an RMA within the first 30 days, rest no issues.
