Dear Customer

Good to hear you were able to get the RAM operating at the rated specifications in your system. This is a high performance memory kit that can fully unleash the processing power of any CPU. It is odd a module started acting up so soon, send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Hi Daniel

Good to hear you like the appearance of the RAM and was easy to install. The RipJaws 4 series is one of the most popular designs as it is simple and low profile, allowing it to fit in most systems, including those with large aftermarket CPU coolers. This particular model is designed for Intel X99 and X299 platforms, so that may be why XMP did not work properly. In the future, please follow the G.Skill QVL or RAM Configurator for optimal results. Also, check to see if you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard as updates are frequently released to improve compatibility. Since XMP is not working flawlessly, try manual settings to see if it can work better. For any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Great G.Skill support after failed 8GB chip

Pros: Works fine on a Z370 Board (ASUS Z370-Plus-Gaming) with Intel Core i7-8700, even if it's not on the QVL list (I was aware of that before purchasing)

By default, it is detected as 2133Mhz memory, but I can easily make it run a 2933Mhz by tweaking the XML profile. However, I am not certain if it also has an impact on the processor's heat generation, so I am leaving it at 2133MHz for now until I can make further research on that subject (I am not really noticing any performance change either way).

Cons: - Had one chip fail very soon (maybe a month or two) after installation. Bit of a grief during the period I got BSODs all the time till I finally found out it was because of the said chip.

Overall Review: G.Skill's RMA process turned out to be rather smooth, other than the nuisance of having to pay shipping fees from Canada to US. It took maybe 2 and a half weeks, which is pretty good in my book.

I will point out my computer's performance was flawless during the whole period I ran it with a single 8GB chip, and every day performance, including gaming, was the same as ever. Maybe going for 2 x 8GB was a bit overkill for today's needs ;)

Hi Francois

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Good to hear the memory kit worked great with your ASUS Z370 motherboard and Intel Core i7-8700 CPU. That is a very high performance build so results should be outstanding. Enabling XMP and running at a higher DRAM frequency will generate slightly more CPU heat as the memory controller is embedded within the CPU. You can monitor temps or use a software like RealTemp to see if it exceeds 80 degrees C during gaming or any memory intensive task. If so, you may need an aftermarket CPU cooler to maintain CPU temperature. Good to hear you were able to get an issue resolved very swiftly. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Great memory, performs as advertised with no messing around

Pros: -Great for quickly storing and retrieving data!
-Can be used with Computers!
-Easily runs at XMP speed as advertised, 1.35 volts, 3000 MHz, 15-15-15-35 timings (actually works at lower voltage, same speed)
-Runs at 1T command rate at advertised speed/timings/voltage (default is 2T)

Cons: -price has gotten beyond insane

Overall Review: I bought a pack of two 8GB sticks of this stuff, 16GB total for my Asus Z170-P mobo, which was the cheapest Z170 LGA 1151 mobo I could get :)
Fires right up with no complaints, default XMP settings as described at 1.35 volts. On my machine, this memory will actually run well at advertised XMP speed and timings on only 1.30 volts, and I can run it at 1T command rate at the default 1.35V.
Unfortunately, the price per gigabyte has gone through the roof for some reason, you'd think they'd have a handle on manufacturing this stuff by now and could just bash it out by the truckload for much lower prices, but it's actually gone the other way. I was entertaining the idea of going up to 32GB, but it ain't happening at this price!

Nice but, Now is OVER PRICE

Pros: I have no problem with my system as far as memory goes. I have only 16g or memory and games works fine without any problem. I don't get usually the non-responding, hang or crash with any software.

Cons: I wanted to upgrade the memory to 32, but when I went to my order history to get the same one. I couldn't believe the price for 16 gb (2 x 8 gb), $201.00. I paid $68 for 16 gb (2 x 8 gb) when I built my system back in September 2016. There's no way I'll be paying $133.00 more. I recommended but NOT FOR $201.00

Dear Customer

Good to hear this extreme performance memory kit is working well in your system. 16GB is a perfect amount for gaming and most memory intensive tasks. With G.Skill RAM, you should never experience any hangs or crashes due to memory, but even if you do, you are backed by a manufacturer lifetime warranty so you have no worries. With regards to upgrade and pricing, unfortunately that is not something we can control. You purchased the original kit at an ideal time; unfortunately global cost for RAM has increased due to limited availability. Pricing can fluctuate, so when you see a good deal or know what you need in the future, make sure to get it right away. RAM is unlike any other computer hardware in that is limited production, so especially if you see a high performance spec, get it right away because it may not be available to purchase at a later time. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Fantastic Ram

Pros: -Fast Ram
-Easy to install
-Looks Good
-What else could you ask for
-No Rgbs

Cons: -no complaints here

Overall Review: The only issue with this ram is a weird x.m.p issue but I believe it is a problem with my motherboard. Update figured out x.m.p issue with manual tuning.

Works as advertised

Pros: * Compatible with Ryzen with the AGESA 1.0.0.6 update; you won't reach full speeds without it.
* Looks nice and isn't too tall to fit bulky CPU heatsinks.
* Runs cool.

Cons: * Unusable with a T1 command rate. A little annoying that Newegg doesn't specify the command rate; not G.Skill's fault; they specify this on their website.
* Good luck overclocking this on Ryzen if you had an interest in doing so. I could POST at 3200MHz but I couldn't get much beyond that. I may increase latencies to see if that helps. But, I didn't buy a 3200MHz kit, so I can't rightfully complain that it didn't go above its advertised speed.

Overall Review: DDR4 sure got expensive! Back when I bought this, it was around 45 dollars cheaper. Hopefully the supply and demand will even out soon.

Its works on ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 with XMP profile

Pros: This is not on the list of certified memory, but once set to XMP in BIOS, the ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 automatic boot to DDR4 3000.
Run Test overnight - no error.

Cons: Wish it has LED on the ram module, but it still match the motherboard theme.
