Pros: First of all, I had no problem with the heat spreaders coming off like I read in other reviews. Slipped right into my Intel D865GLC Mobo and fired it up.On Auto it read it at 3338,so I reset it to 2.5,3,3,6 and it booted right up.I'll tell ya what, was running 1gig. of pc2700 and went to this memory and wow, what a difference. With my 2.8 gig. Intel cpu, Doom 3 now runs so flawlessly it's scary. I'm getting 73 fps on Fear now, verses 60 with the old stuff. Thanks Newegg for a great deal,a fine product and fast shipping to boot.My system:
D865GLC Mobo,Intel 2.8 gig. CPU,480 Watt PS,Lite-On 1633 16x DVD Burner,Sony 52x32x52 CD Burner,GeForce 6800 GT 256mb Video Card,Delta 66 Sound Card w/Omni Studio Breakout Box,Skill 2x1gig Memory. Thanks Newegg...
Cons: Absolutly none so far. Not even any heat issues. As I right this, my temps are,CPU-30 C,Chipset-29 C,Case-26 C.During Fear, they only get up to 46 C at the most.
Pros: This RAM is perfect. It is very fast and very stable. I have OCed it about 20MHz and it is still running great with no divider. If you are looking for top RAM at basement price... This RAM is a steal.
Pros: These sticks perform great, and look great. They are overclockable, even though im not going to do that yet, and are fast.
Cons: None really, other than the fact the memory doesnt detect as it should, which is why so many people have issues.
Overall Review: If you are having issues with this memory check your BIOS settings and make sure it was detected correctly and running at a voltage of 2.5 and at 2.5-3-3-6 as when first detected is normally at some other setting. The heatsinks seem durable and had no problem with them at all. Blue LEDS, blue uv cathodes, blue heat sinks, looks great.
Pros: Excellent memory, I don't know why it is so much cheaper than the others, especially against the g.skill black extreme HZ's?! I havent toyed with them much, but I put the timings to 3-4-4-8 1T 2.7v and overclocked to 250mhz (ddr 500 speed) with no problem. At stock timings they ran similar to the other posts ~230 mhz. I am sure it can clock higher and will post my final results once I have more time to test my new rig. Quake 4 runs at about 150 fps at 800x600.
At the moment:
KN1 SLI Lite Extreme (nforce 4)
3800+ x2 @ 2.5 Ghz (2.0 stock)
This Mem @ 250 mhz
evga 6600 gt @550/1100 (stock 500/1000)
Cons: I overclocked with ntune and got BSOD then windows would not boot. Had to format to fix it. I am blaming the memory for this =].
Overall Review: Check out this review of the memory. It is the only one I have found so far, but seems to be accurate as my ram performs the same so far.
Pros: very good ram for the price, i have mine running at 228 with 2.5-3-3-5 1T timings and 2.8v
Cons: removed the heat spreaders because of the heat tape that gskill puts on these guy, it covers 1/3rd of the ram and actually spaces the heat spreader away from the ram for the rest of it
Overall Review: besides the heat spreader this is great ram for the price imo
Pros: Works perfectly, even in an odd system like mine.
Overall Review: Great value for the money. Have not had any trouble in the six months of hard use I have put them through.
Pros: pushed this ram to 230 MHz no problem, undoubtedly goes higher
Overall Review: not bad. Bought it for my DFI lanparty board, only to realize later i could have used pc4000 ram or higher. This ram still performs for the purpose i needed it, so im plenty happy!
Pros: Works Great. No problems at all.
Overall Review: Best buy for your money.
