I would like to build a Desktop PC.
-Needs to be able to upgrade in the future
-Needs performance I will be using it for 3D modeling and Rendering and of course gaming.
CPU= AMD 9-9950x3d or Ryzen Threadripper 3970X
What else do you recommend?
I would go with an Nvidia card in your situation. Probably at least a 80 class card. Probably at least 64 gigs of ram maybe 128 even. But I’m not sure what you need for that 3-D rendering stuff. If your talking Threadripper I’m guessing money not thing.
Need a board with fast data lanes. Again probably not an issue on any TRX40 board.
If you actually build this thing you gotta drop a pic. Your CPU will cost 2x what most peoples entire rigs cost!

The issue is I am not sure what is necessary or what I could go without.
Back and forth with the threadripper yet I have been told it will help with productivity. Is it worth the $?

32+ GB ram: Corsair Kingston? Who is more reliable
8-16 + cores CPU: ? Ryzen 9 or thred?
GPU- do the name brands make a difference? RTX 5090 or RTX 5070Ti? Was told to stay away from 5080..
what’s a good case?
Motherboard- asrock x870e of course getting the thredripper would change this.
CPU cooler- attic liquid freezer III
Storage: 4T+ Samsung 990 pro?
Starting to wonder if I should just buy something then upgrade it later…

Well, a 3970x is $1600 alone. Unless you get used still like 50%. You should really see what the system requirements are needed for the rendering software are before dropping the💰
