Arc Raiders uses AI for NPC voices. That seems fine. It does hurt the voice actors in the industry.
Battlefield was made assisted with AI generation. and people LOVE that game for the most part (Sorry REDSEC)
Loud minority vs the Silent majority type situation.
While the vast majority of gamers prefer actual humans developing games, in practice, many of us dont care as long as the product is good.
We can not stop the AI train because well just be behind other countries who embrace it. Were going to have to adapt and overcome it. Any AI has come al ong way in 2 years. in some cases, its nearly identical to real world applications. In another 2 years, we wont even notice it that much. People made the claim " we won cause were seeing less AI content " and thats the real irony because its gotten so good, most can not tell the difference.
Most arguments against AI are making arguments of emotion and not logic. I have a strong foundations on ethics, but the subject is subjective and enough money will change peoples ethics or decisions eventually.
I prefer to sit in the eye of the storm, where is calm, and observe the madness around me.

The reason I hate generative AI is two-fold.
Part 1 is the objective fact that generative AI depends upon “training” based on input. Let’s say you were trying to generate an AI video of a dog jumping out of a pickup truck bed, and directly into a kiddie pool of water. Unless that AI model has been trained extensively on pickup trucks, kiddie pools, dogs, and surrounding environments like driveways or parking lots, it won’t work. 99% or more of AI generated content relies on training from stealing others’ content, and that’s the primary ethical problem.
Part 2, the primary economic problem, is that it’s replacing human jobs at breakneck speed while also being the sole reason RAM prices are $400+ for 32GB of DDR5 right now, when it was under $100 in August. OpenAI contracted 40% of the global memory supply, and here we are.

I very much agree with your last sentence in particular. I am a “grey area” kind of person. My feelings on a subject like this are very much guided by context. I think what bothers me greatly is (forgive me for generalizing here) I see a lot of either/or and extreme black-and-white points of view as of late. I think AI has a place…but do I want it forced on me in my web browser of choice? No. I have had to use my developer settings on my phone in order to disable what I cannot uninstall.
(For me, the lack of choice chaps my hide…but that only applies to services/products I use regularly.)
At least I can choose to avoid AI if it is embedded in something I NEVER use.
I suppose it is a pick your battles thing. @TheZacAttack I appreciate your thoughtful point of view.
