Newegg x WD x UGreen event in the Gamer Zone! Check it out here!

Newegg recently partnered with Western Digital (WD) and UGREEN to host an exciting NAS-focused competition event for students at University of Southern California. Designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world tech innovation, the event brought together aspiring engineers, designers, and IT enthusiasts to explore how network-attached storage (NAS) powers modern digital infrastructure. From content creation workflows to enterprise-level data management, students gained hands-on exposure to the technology that keeps today’s connected world running.

Techfluencer Trisha served as the event’s spokesperson, energizing the crowd and guiding attendees through the day’s activities. WD and UGREEN kicked things off with an in-depth seminar explaining how NAS solutions support scalable storage, secure collaboration, and high-performance access for gaming communities and creative teams alike. They walked students through practical demonstrations, highlighting how reliable storage ecosystems are critical for everything from esports media production to campus-wide data systems.

Students arrived early, formed teams, and got straight to work on the main challenge: designing a new concept for the Newegg Gamer Zone. Each team collaborated on creative layouts, tech integrations, and workflow ideas before uploading their final design files directly to the NAS system. By combining innovation, teamwork, and real-time file sharing, the competition showcased not only student talent but also the power of WD and UGREEN’s NAS technology in action.
