Pros: Lots of features, no integrated graphics to get tangled up in...supports almost every AMD processor of the last three years; meaningful crossfire support, eight sata ports, included ESATA bracket, solid design with improved heat dissipation, 140W support, RAID of all flavors (except 6, but who cares?) and excellent automatic voltage controls. Two four-pin fan headers! (CPU, and an extra!).
Cons: Doesn't support RAID 5 on all ports...just the cluster of six. Audio header is along back end of board, where some case's cables might have trouble reaching. Priced about the same as some other 790GX boards...so, for the price, you don't get the integrated graphics, but---
Overall Review: Who needs integrated graphics these days? If you're not using a laptop, you owe it to yourself to avoid them, and get at least a dx10 level, media-decoding product, even if you don't game. Now, the board itself is surprisingly well made...heavy for a motherboard, but very solid,with much less flex than MSI's that I've owned...meaning that if you install heavy video cards, you won't have to worry too much about their long-term effects. Seems like the quality I've come to expect out of Gigabyte, and, given my platform choices with this PC, I expect it to last me a long time.
