GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 8GB WINDFORCE OC, GV-N1070WF2OC-8GD R2

Pros: -Amazingly fast. I may not be quite fit to judge, coming from a 560, but I've not been able to challenge it at 1080p. All of the games I own can be supersampled. I'm just waiting for there to be official Blender kernels pushed so I can really use it at its full potential. -Runs very cool. I've barely seen it hit 60*C even running very recent games at maximum settings and supersampled to 150% of 1080p. -Very quiet unless under heavy load, even then still not egregious. The Windforce design, while not as revolutionary as Gigabyte would lead you to believe, works very well. -Overclocking. I've yet to adjust the card, manually or with software, but I've measured it and it throttles itself to very high frequencies under load. Out-of-the-box, mine goes to 1873 MHz at moments of peak load. -Lots of outputs. There are three DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b, and one DVI-D. It is capable of 8k output with two of its DP's. -Relatively low TDP. The Pascal architecture has allowed for a huge increase in power efficiency. At only 150W, the TDP of this card is safe, stable, manageable, and stresses very few power supplies or motherboards. -Only one 6+2 pin power connector. This allows for most of the power it needs to be direct from the power supply, and makes it a very stable card. -Does not overstate itself (too much). -I have had absolutely no issues with software, drivers, crashes, instability, overheating, anything. This is an extremely reliable and easy-to-use card.

Cons: -If you like things like RGB lighting, backplates, etc, then this card may disappoint you. It has none of that type of thing. Personally, I view these features as superfluous or even pretentious, and have chosen this card because of their non-presence. -The price is high. If you want a better price for 1070's you should wait longer. The MSRP is $380, this (at the moment, the most basic, bare-bones, low-price, high-performance-to-cost ratio ) card is priced $20 above that. In a few months there will likely be even more plain-looking ones that are just as good for the $380 I'd have liked to pay. -This card is very, very large. Just for scale, it is longer (even just the PCB!) than a standard ATX motherboard is wide. It is relatively thick, taking up two PCIe slot width, though you ought to expect that from a GTX card. I have a very large case, and it's cramped for this card.

Overall Review: I am very pleased that I managed to get to this card before it sold out. It was completely out-of-stock about 18 hours after it was made available at a one-per-customer limit. It's a phenomenal card whose strong points are competitive and whose flaws are easy to accommodate, and I plan to be using it for years to come. I imagine you can find a place for one if Newegg can find one to sell you. - Henry Wilson

Pros: -Very Quiet (compared to my previous MSI R9 290X Twin Frozr edition, fans can be profiled, I believe, but I have yet to have a need to go in and change anything from the defaults due to how great everything runs) -Very cool (as in temperature, the card tops out around 63 degrees Celsius when running Battlefield 1 on Ultra settings for hours on end at 1920x1080 via HDMI) -8 Pin Power connector, it can and will use all the power it can when under full load so if you're concerned about the 150W power demand(listed in the specs at time of writing) then be sure to plan according. - Solid Card all around, I really cant say enough about how good the card is all around. I've yet to have had any serious issues with it after 5+ hours a day of solid use.

Cons: I have to be fair... -The card is a decent size : compared to my previous one it isn't that much but if you're upgrading from tech that's beyond three and four generations old you aren't wrong to be concerned as to whether or not it might fit in the case. -Don't let this scare you off. It whines, only on a certain instance though. -> one of the games I play is ARK: Survival Evolved and whenever I am in the main menus area, either browsing servers or whatever, the card whines with a high pitch. The card's readings are not off the charts or anything. I'm not sure as to the cause but either way this is the only time I have heard it do so. ALSO, once I'm loading up a server or single-player and when I'm in-game the whining immediately goes away. This is the only instance that I've seen the card act a little strange but I've yet to find this happen with absolutely anything else. -It will showcase the other parts of your system that can't keep up with it. The card is currently doing victory laps around my processor show how old my I7-3770 has become. -There really isn't anything bad about the card that I have seen. I don't have any problems with it running, which is a complete about-face when coming from the AMD/MSI card I used to have in its place.

Overall Review: If Windows 10 ever gets fixed in regards to all of its problems with backwards compatibility to older games, I might consider going to Windows 10 just to get DirectX12. At that point I would come back and buy another one of these cards so I can split the screen and have each card manage half. Other notes: -This is the first card I've ever had that I've written a review for because I've seen it perform well and I can fully get behind the other reviewers saying that it is a quality product. Sure, there may be better deals elsewhere but at the time I was searching for a card this one was the best I'd found in 6 months of searching for an upgrade. -My system: Intel I7-3770 @3.4GHz with 16GB Ram on a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H motherboard. I run everything off of a Cougar RS 650 power supply and the system also features a 2TB HDD and a 1TB SSD as well with two separate case fans. All in all, between games and development software the card has shown me that it is time to upgrade my processor since it is now bottlenecking. ***In case it matters. nothing in my system is overclocked. And the system is well maintained for longevity. I hope this helps, anyone looking into the card. I tried to answer questions that I had after I'd dived into the specifications of the graphics cards I was looking at. I bought this card over a GTX 980 and 970. I also went back to INVIDIA from AMD because I kept having many issues with 290X Twin Frozr struggling and failing in most cases to run my games. But since I've upgraded to the 1070 all those issues have vanished. Pros: it's a great card! Not a giant step up from my 980ti classified, but it does edge past it. It is really quiet even under load. can barely hear it even when I push fans to 100% (though that may be my case). able to overlook the core clock to 2135mhz and run it stable. runs much cooler than my 980ti. idles around 28c and around 55c at load with auto fan speed. Runs my games at 2k between 45-70 fps

Cons: not worth taking an egg off, but it won't make me pancakes in the morning.

Overall Review: I upgraded from my 980ti. it's not a huge leap, but I was more interested in utilizing the Pascal improvements and features. Also, I plan to buy a second for sli when I get my 2k 144hz monitor or 4k if I can afford it.

Pros: Went from gtx 960 to this.. so the difference was HUGE. At the same setting in Black ops 3 i was getting 55-60 fps and then 150-160 fps with the new card in 1080p. So it is time to move to 1440p Got way better performance in Madvr too . Very silent. i cant even tell when the fan are running. Very cold, never went over 70 Best price for GTX1070

Cons: I got a little scared when i saw how in bad shape my box was, but the card was not damaged. (phew).

Overall Review: buy this card, you wont regret.

Pros: - It's the cheapest 1070 out there - Perform just as well as the more expensive 1070s minus the bells and whistles - Runs slient and cool (70c max)

Overall Review: My monitor is a 1080p 144hz and this card just maxed it. Upgrading from a Gigabyte GTX670 this card is such a MASSIVE upgrade. Max setting Doom@150fps+, Epic Overwatch@200fps+, Witcher3 Max 80fps+. I guess I don't really need to overclock this. Also this card is like $100 dollars less than the better looking 1070s but deliver the same performance, good temp and it is very slient. If you don't care much for the looks and LEDs this card is a WINNER.

Pros: *Price/Performance value is very high *With Nvidia inspector, can easily achieve 1946Mhz overclock without raising the voltage!! Under heavy load never going over about 72c. *Using this in an ASUS X79/ i7-4930k/ Win7 x64: I can max settings and still hit 100 FPS on Gsync ASUS ROG Swift 2560 x 1440 (Fallout 4 90-100 FPS, BF4 90-100, COD BO3 75-95 etc..) * Super quiet. I have a 7 case fans, and I never hear this winding up at all compared to my old ones! * This replaced 2x 4GB Windforce 770's in SLi.. This card absolutely dominates them, using less than half the power at the same time. * Was actually able to get this soon after launch.. Been running sweet for couple months now!!

Cons: -No LED lights.. Not that I would be able to see them through the case. But would have been nice -No back plate like the G1 gaming -Gigabyte Xtreme Engine OC utility crashes.. Looks cool.. But I cant get it to run.. Don't know if this is the card or my system, but gave up and just use Nvidia inspector

Overall Review: I bumped the voltage up, and got over the 2Ghz a couple times but I was having stability issues. Temps were fine, but driver was crashing.. Just wasn't worth it to me to push it yet. Without trying I can hit 1946 MHz, staying cool.

Pros: Upgraded from a GTX 770... world of difference. - Runs every game I play at max settings on 1440p 60fps - No coil whine. - Very little fan noise (when it runs.) My fan-less PSU is the loudest component in my PC. - No issues with drivers on Windows. - Only one DVI port.

Cons: - Very large. I thought my previous card was big... this one was a good inch longer. Felt like it barely fit in my large-ish case. - Temperature seems higher than other people are reporting (48° idle, 70° load). The ambient temperature in my room is somewhat warm (~28°). Not that big of a deal though as it doesn't affect performance. - I've had trouble with drivers on Linux. But I'm sure they'll be ironed out shortly. Not really Gigabyte's fault. - Only one DVI port.

Overall Review: After installation, my PSU began having a rather loud coil whine. (Which I initially thought was the GPU... fortunately it was not.) It's been about a week now and the whine is slowly fading. I think the cause was related to different power usage from my old video card to this one. In time it should go away completely.
