Awesome card!! 12/5/2014 1:58:47 PM

Pros: Awesome performance coming from an MSI GTX 670 2GB OC Edition.
GTX 980 overclocks like a dream even being a reference model.
Has a back plate and run cool and quite when not OC.
Price is way better when comparing to the GTX 780 Ti at the time of purchase.

Cons: The cooling fan is awesome for cooling when highly OCed, but it does run noisier when compared to aftermarket coolers. But that's with all Ref. Models. Since most gamers who OC normally wear headsets/phones it's not really noticeable. Other then that I can't really think of any other Cons.

Overall Review: I bought the card 2 days after the launch of the GTX 980. Here are Benchmark comparisons of both the GTX 670 OC and the GTX 980 stock clocks. Hope this helps.

Pros: Fastest Card available at time of release. More powerful while using less power.
Multiple Displayport outputs avoids problems with display glitching due to DVI signal timing differences.

Cons: None at this time

Overall Review: I've had some driver related issues. The 344.11 and 3.44.16's work fine, but every newer driver released since then just won't install right for me. The display goes blank during the installation and fails to recover. Display works after a power cycle, but Surround won't enable correctly. It either simply doesn't enable at all, or the display is glitchy.
I am still not sure what the cause of the issue is there, but the card continues to work perfectly with the 344.16's. So I'm sticking to those for now.

Great Performance, quiet, OC monster 10/14/2014 6:25:47 PM

Pros: Card is very solid. Out of the box benchmarks well with quiet fan. OC benchmarks are amazing with 10-15% performance boost after moderate MSI Afterburner overclock vs. the standard GPU boost speed. Runs cool and quiet even with OC.

Cons: none with the performance. Only a single DVI connection with 3 displayports is less standard than the more common 2x DVI.

Overall Review: Drivers are newer and nVidia has still not incorporated all the potential features of the card (VR-SLI) etc.

On 2 year old mobo, a driver BIOS update was required to support PCI-E v3 as it would not display video on older bios.

Current Fastest Single GPU Card 10/12/2014 10:46:12 PM

Pros: Power efficient, highly overclockable, and very fast. I picked up two of these two days after release to power my new 4K monitor and they are doing a beautiful job. I run all games on highest settings with most running at a constant 60fps.

Cons: None that I can really think of!

Overall Review: While the fans aren't too loud they are quite audible when the cards are under a full load. However, this really isn't a con as this will be the same for all reference 980's, I guess I am just used to usually having non reference cards without the blower design. I am running two of these cards on an 850w psu with an overclocked 3770k.

nvidia wins again :) 10/12/2014 10:47:39 AM

Pros: Very fast. It's also cool and quiet most of the time. 3 display ports, 1 hdmi, and 1 dvi. It has all the connectivity I could want. It's also a lower price than I would have paid for the 750ti, so I'm glad I waited 2 months for this to be released.

Cons: none

Overall Review: I'm running this on a PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot, and it's still fast. I get 60fps on Batman:Arkham Asylum (max everything except AA which is x4), even in heavy action scenes. About 55 fps on Space Engineers on max graphics, but that game isn't well optimized yet anyway. I tend to be pretty busy with work, so I haven't had time to play much else. I upgraded from a GTX 260. This runs a lot cooler than the HD Radeon I was borrowing from a coworker.

Awesome, awesome card 10/7/2014 12:51:29 PM

Pros: - Amazing performance
- Easy install on motherboard
- Easy installation of drivers
- Quiet
- Low power consumption

Cons: - Large-ish form factor (had a bit trouble fitting it in my case, but i managed)
- A bit expensive for the performance. The 980 is about $200 more expensive than the 970, with only about a 10% performance increase.

Overall Review: Highly, highly recommend this card. I'll be purchasing a 2nd one for SLI as soon as it becomes available.

Gigabyte GTX 980 10/4/2014 6:48:10 PM

Pros: Amazing card, so far have run Metro Last Light, Shadow of Mordor, Arkham origins, Dolphin Emulator and many others without a hitch in 2560 x 1440 resolution. Quiet and low temps overall (sitting around 70c-75c during gaming.

Was planning a build around a GTX 780 ti....glad I waited.

Cons: Price? But it's to be expected on a flagship card.

Availability- Nvidia should know by now, to provide sufficient stock for the demand. Card was sold out immediately everywhere, and second hand sellers are trying to bamboozle who are desperate with outrageous prices ($900 and up)

Overall Review: Currently running this on a Qnix QX2710, which doesn't have g-sync capabilities, so cannot comment on that feature. Will update as more time goes by. Plan to purchase a "branded" monitor next time (such as Asus, Samsung or Dell), for dual-monitor setup and maybe another GTX 980...if they ever get back in stock.
