Is this solely for the Gigabyte Aorus mobo or can I expect it to be compatible with my MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON?

My understanding is most PCIe 4.0 cards are backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 slots but are limited in speed by PCIe 3.0 bandwidth constraints.  In the same thought process that USB 3.0 drives will work on USB 2.0 ports with their speed reduced to USB 2.0 speeds.

Do you need to populate all 4 M.2 slots? and do you need to enable Raid or can you use the drives seperately?

I have used this card successfully on a PCIe x8 lane and populated the first 2 M.2 slots. I have only used it in RAID and can't speak to using the drives separately.

In the specs for the adapter it says: The card is backwards compatible with older generations of PCIe - meaning PCIe 3.0 too?

do I need to reinstall Win 10 after setting 2 NVME drives to raid-1 ?

it depends on how you backup your current drive and after you create the raid you can clone you system drive.

COM[PATIBILITY WITH MACPRO 2010 5,1 ???

That computer is 10 years old and likely only has:
PCI-e 2.0 when 3/4.0 is modern standard
SATA 2 when 3 is the modern standard
USB 2 when almost all modern machines have USB 3.1/3.2

This card is designed for PCIe 4.0, so no, I would say it is very likely incompatible.
