Pros: Card works well, will play latest games (Battlefield Bad Company 2, etc) at highest settings. Recommend from a hardware perspective.

Cons: $50 rebate was not honored. Sent in paperwork with all required documentation within the time required. Rebate processor, Worldwiderebates, did not scan both sides of my reciept and claims that I did not send the part of the receipt with the purchase date (they scan all of the documents you send them). This is despite the fact that I called them, faxed them another copy of the receipt and sent a third copy via certified mail upon request. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, the AG's office and if I do not obtain satisfaction, will be forced to file in small claims court. By the way, I sent in another rebate at exactly the same time from the same Newegg order to the same processor (Worldwiderebates) and they did scan both sides of that reciept - which, of course, also shows that I purchased this product. Before you buy, please consider the merits of this card and the cost to quality ratio based on the non-rebate price!

Overall Review: What a shame that rebates are no longer honored...

Pros: When it works, it's an extremely powerful card. I can run all of my games at full settings and this card doesn't break a sweat. No drops in FPS, runs cool, does what you would expect there.

Cons: The BIOS on this card is horribly out of date. Before updating it I was getting constant VSODs and GSODs even while doing simple things like browsing the web. Simply updating the video drivers wasn't enough, I had to flash the BIOS with the newest version. Ever since I did that about a week or so ago I haven't had any problems.

Overall Review: If you get this card, be prepared to update the BIOS immediately. Updating to Version F8 appears to have fixed my VSOD problems.

Overall Review: 1 of my cards started buzzing too and when I looked at the card I found a wire was up into the fan. I took a small screwdriver pushed it back into place and it has been perfect ever since!

Pros: I can't believe all the 3 stars ,this card is fast ,it is silent ,looks good ,made out of good parts ,stressing the card it very seldom ever hits 50c,with the two fan it is very quite

Overall Review: I am running Vista 64bit ultimate and have no problem when it goes to sleep.Playing a blu-ray make sure you have all the drivers installed.I have n.9reloaded and it play blu-rays just fine.I thought this was one of the best HD5870 made ,but looking at the reviews ,people would think it sucks.I don't see where it is loud my case fans are louder and compared to my GTX280 these make no noise at all.3 stars come on it is better then that.as useal newegg shipping is fast,got my in 2 days.

Pros: So far runs cooler then my 250's but those were reference design and in SLI, however, this thing seems to edge both of those out by itself. Makes me excited to see what it can do under crossfire. 300 bucks is a pretty good buy when it's said and done and with the 6xxx series out now I'm hoping to see a price drop on this.

Cons: None that I've seen as of yet. Drivers work. (was worried about the ratings and reviews) Thing is a bit bigger then I thought even getting near the drive bays in my Antec 1200 and when I xfire it'll block off both of my lower right hand side fan connectors on my mobo but it lists dimensions under the details so I can't rightly complain when they have given all the information up front.

Overall Review: No driver issues, using this to play WoW and Final Fantasy XIV, however, now I have the power to play just about anything especially once I xfire this. Runs 32c idle in a case that is running at 30c in a 72f ambient temperature. Under load it's running 45-55c which is pretty outstanding. 6xxx series has been released, however, don't be fooled by the 68xx series it's suppose to be the 57xx version of the 6xxx series and the 5870 still beats out the 6870. Hoping for the price drop for xfire. Newegg's shipping was awesome and got this with the 890fx-gd70 mobo and both are currently working as smooth as butter. Quality product thanks Newegg and Gigabyte.

Pros: For these cards in crossfire: + Cool under crossfire conditions. Fans usually hover around 55% to 65% speed, topping out at around 75 degrees C, under load. + Stable, from what I have seen playing a number of games under the F7 BIOS. + I can now finally complete the Windows Rating utility without crashing at the video play back phase. Yay!

Cons: For these cards in crossfire: - Overall louder when running two cards in crossfire. This is a given as you now have 4 fans rather than 2. - Extra heat, but again, this is to be expected as you have two large heat sinks pumping out radiant heat. - I do notice a buzzing noise from the new 2nd card, becoming audible from time to time. Not sure if this is an isolated incident with that card, as my first card is whisper quiet. However, the build quality of this card is a little suspect, despite it performing without issue.

Overall Review: This is an update from my first review, which only gave 3 eggs, due to the faulty video playback. The F7 BIOS has appeared to fix this issue, so my major gripe is no longer applicable. Thus, from a minor fan buzzing noise, which tends to occur under certain fan speeds (but not at load speeds when I am gaming ), I have no problems with this card(s) performance. With this problem addressed under the F7 BIOS, I would say this is the best custom cooling solution card, of the sub $400 range.

Pros: Runs Crysis very high @1920x1080. I think Gigabyte fixed the bios or whatever cause I have no problems like the other reviewers.

Cons: Sounds like a UFO while gaming.

Pros: Blazing fast in games, just as advertised.

Cons: As stated by so many others, this card has a real problem with video playback, Windows Experience Rating will not run nor can I play DVDs or certain video formats. I found several forums with users having the same problems. The solution seems to be flashing the card's bios with one from a different vendor such as Asus or Sapphire, of course that would void the warranty.

Overall Review: I've contacted Gigabyte and ATI but no help yet, ATI has been much more responsive. I'm pleased with the 5870, just wish I hadn't gone with the Gigabyte.
