Fast, works great
Pros: -Website warranty registration is easy (many SSD manufacturers have little or no method of registering your warranty and make me doubt the ability to ever make a warranty claim if needed) -Works well -Fast, reduced boot time immensely
Cons: -Not the cheapest of all the SSD's available, but not the most expensive either -Third party cloning software, may not work with all computer configurations
Overall Review: -First thing I did was to put it in my dock to see if it was recognized and it was immediately, then attempted to clone my HDD onto it. I had a 250gb HDD as a place holder in an existing system for a future SSD upgrade. The cloning software included and the free software I had been using for years both failed to make a bootable clone. -Further research showed that making a disc image as a backup and restoring to the SSD was successful and did save the hassel of a complete reinstall. It worked as if the SSD had always been the boot drive. -I did find the reason for the failed clone. It was that I configured my system to have a boot drive and 2 1TB storage drives in Raid 1 configuration. The result was that a clone would not work due to the motherboard rejecting it as a boot drive and was really a matter of the motherboard just not liking it. The motherboard had no problems recognizing the backed up disc image as the disc image configured the SSD to be compatible. - Many people that report problems, never report their pc configuration and make me question if they just fail to use other methods to make their pc work. When pc configurations are not all the default settings (which is the most common and target group for the free cloning software), people sometimes have problems that are not the fault of the hardware manufacturer, but just the wrong method of installation. The other problem a lot of people seem to have is they don't initialize an SSD/HDD, sometimes this does not happen at the factory and needs to be done by the end user. They also sometimes fail to set it as the boot drive in their BIOS as is required by my motherboard, which does not do that just because I install a new SSD or HDD. -Final results. I would buy again and do recommend this drive.
Works good for now, but can't recommend
Pros: Inexpensive vs competitors Black not the goofy color of Team Group's L5 SSD's Fast out of the box
Cons: No DRAM cache!!! Will get slow over time without DRAM!!!
Overall Review: I bought and installed this because I have never yet had a Team Group product fail. I have purchased a lot of the L5 series SSD's and they have worked flawlessly. The only problem was that if the L5 was visible, my customers would complain about the awful color. The GX1 and GX2 became available in the standard black so I started buying them. The problem was that no where did Team Group readily make available that the GX1 and GX2 series have no DRAM cache. So while they are inexpensive and fast out of the box, they will slow down over time. At the same price, the L5 series is a much better buy. It is much better to purchase from a competitor if they are on sale and have DRAM cache like Patriot, ADATA, WD, Crucial. I have very much enjoyed using Team Group products for their great pricing and reliability. I will no longer be buying any more of the GX1 or GX2 series of SSD. I hope they change the color of the L5 series and bring it back as it seems to be hard to find now. If you read this Team Group, you can do better than this, and you should!
Great, quiet, pack of fans
Pros: Quiet Inexpensive for the quality Moves a lot of air 3 pin and comes with molex adapter
Cons: Not always at sale price Multicolored wires, not black
Overall Review: These are a great buy if you want a good very quiet case fan that moves a lot of air. They are surprisingly quiet for the air they move compared to many of the much more expensive fans. I have put together a lot of computers and I like these fans as they are a good quality without braking a budget. I would recommend them to anyone. They are an exceptional value if you can catch them on sale.
Very compact mATX
Pros: Compact, if that is what you want Inexpensive fits mATX motherboards, not just ITX Lots of places to mount a 2.5" HDD
Cons: Front panel restricts airflow, makes a side fan necessary ( this is why 1 egg deducted) Not a lot of room for a 3.5" HDD with the side fan installed
Overall Review: If you want to build a compact gaming computer, this is a pretty good case for it. It comes with 2 fans installed. The front panel is more about looks than function and is very restricting of air being pulled in despite the fan. This makes the side fan position very needed. That limits where you can install a 3.5" drive. It is still nice that you can install a micro atx motherboard and a twin fan graphics card. A sing fan graphis card is better if you can find one, just for the sake of room. Uses a standard atx psu, and a 5.25 optical drive, so all of the components are standard, making it easier to build than many micro towers.
The part was described as the same part number as the OEM part that I was replacing, but was actually a compatible part number, I am sure this is due to being a different manufacturer. This was fine but did not see that stated in the description. Shipping was fast, but surprised me to see a laptop screen in an envelope rather than a box. I thought it would have gotten broke in the mail but it didn't. Took off 1 egg due to the shipping package, I think it would be better in a box and less potential for damage in shipping. Also for the description not being exactly clear. Over all, I would do business with this seller again.
