So darn fast

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X - Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Gen 32-Core 3.7 GHz Socket sTRX4 280W Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000011WOF
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X - Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Gen 32-Core 3.7 GHz Socket sTRX4 280W Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000011WOF

Pros: This processor (with 64GB of RAM) can process data in Tableau Prep like a BOSS. What took my Core i7 8th gen 30-60 minutes to do, this thing will do in SECONDS. Might be steep in price, but that is money well spent in time saved. They should call this thing the Productivity Increaser instead of Threadripper. Threadripper does sound pretty cool though. Seriously, it is worth every penny.

Cons: None. Not even price.

Overall Review: Would I recommend? Abso-freakin-lutely. Would I purchase again? Heck yes. Something about it I could change? I do not think so. Maybe a spinning Intel logo that either blows up or burns into a crisp when booting? That would be cool. And apt.

BSOD

Ballistix Elite 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLE2KIT8G3D1869DE1TX0

Pros: Seems pretty fast...when it didn't BSOD me.

Cons: BSOD 4-6 times daily. Usually happened when computer was sitting idle. Now before you shake your head at me because you think I do not know how to properly seat memory, I ran memtest, got errors, reseated, ran memtest again, got errors. I do admit that I am, by no means, someone who could pass as a stunt double on Big Bang Theory, but I can install memory and basic trouble shoot just fine. And if the test results say fail after switch-o-change-o, then I say the RAM is effed. I hate it when (stuff) don't work.

Overall Review: Going to return, already ordered new RAM.
