I'm amazed at how fast hard drives are now, incredible!
Pros: I have owned several Western Digital Black series drives throughout the years and have always had great luck with them. I have 2 older 1TB WD Black drives running in my PC and decided to add this 5TB drive for more storage. I ran some benchmarks and I'm blown away with the performance! These are as fast as SSD drives were when they first came out. The old hard drives make so much noise and this 5TB drive is incredibly quiet in comparison. Benchmarks both drives connected to a SATA 3.0 6Gbp/s port: Old 1TB drive : Read speed= 31MB/s Write Speed=62MB/s New 5TB drive: Read speed=250MB/s Write speed=483MB/s The 128MB Cache really helps.
Cons: Not cheap enough yet. Wait for it to go on sale.
Overall Review: You have to buy at least a 5TB to get the 128MB cache and it is totally worth it over the smaller 4TB drive with only 64MB cache. These are probably the best mechanical hard drives on the market for speed, reliability, and warranty.
Could have been great
Pros: Cools exceptionally well for the money. Easy to install, water cooling doesn't get any easier than this. Amazingly good temps for an all-in-one water cooling solution.
Cons: Horrible quality control. I purchased all Corsair products for my new build including a $300 case, 16GB memory, SSD, power supply, ETC. Everything else was good but this cooler has major issues. I apparently got one of the first batches and it has a bad Fan Controller, that will not run all 4 fans and will not allow me to adjust the fan speeds anymore. If you buy this product plan on buying a seperate fan controller as well. Check the Corsair forums.
Overall Review: I contacted Corsair for a replacement, instead they mailed me two replacement fans. Then I contacted them again and they said that they were sorry for the 1st screw up and that an RMA was approved for my product. Well I waited and waited and they never sent me a new cooler. Now I am stuck with this cooler with fans that will spin up only half of the time. I don't mind spending another $30 to buy a fan controller but it just feels like I really shouldn't have to. Kind of irritating since I bought over $1000 worth of Corsair products and they can't even mail me a replacement for one of the cheapest parts.
Great little card if you need something compact
Pros: Put it in my kids PC that is about the size of a console gaming unit and this card fit. It has plenty of power for most of the newer games although it is probably wise to buy the 4GB version instead. Uses very little power and runs every game out there at decent settings.
Overall Review: If you need a tiny size card, this is probably the best bang for the buck until the next generation of GPU comes out.
Highest Factory overclocked card. Awesome video card!
Pros: This thing is a beast. Best warranty of all the different brands, best cooling of all the different brands, highest factory overclock. What more could you want? This is the best 980 ti available currently.
Cons: This thing is gigantic! I have built hundreds of systems and seen some pretty large cards before but this is definitely in a different league. I feel like it might eventually break my motherboard or something.
Overall Review: People are complaining about coil whine and the fans acting erratically. My card does not have any coil whine at all and it is almost silent. I didn't really care for the default fan profile that Zotac implemented with this card so I downloaded MSI Afterburner and set my own fan profile. Now it does not constantly spin the fans up and then turn them off. Make sure you have a big enough case. I have a large Corsair Obsidian 800D tower and it just looks huge. Also don't plan on using this card in SLI, it's just too big and 2 of these would probably bend/break your motherboard. Bottom line: Best single GPU card on the market, you won't regret buying it.
Cooler works great! Easy to install, inexpensvie
Pros: Awesome cooling ability. I had an old Radeon 5770 that was overheating and reaching close to 90c at idle! I tried replacing the thermal paste with some good arctic silver 5 paste and put the fan to 100% but it would still hit 90c at idle. I bought this cooler rather than throwing out the card since it was only $20. This cooler works! Amazing cooling power for only $20. Dropped my temps from 90c down to 47c. Easy fix for $20 and well worth the money. Also the cooler is near silent, can't hear it running at all.
Overall Review: If you have a GPU that is overheating, this is a great inexpensive way to fix it. And this cooler fits most older video cards both Nvidia and AMD.
Thank you Gigabyte! Great board!
Pros: Bought a cheapo ASROCK board to save money and none of the SATA ports worked. Got rid of it and ordered the Gigabyte. Works perfectly right out of the box. Also feels like its got much better construction and overall layout is much better. USB 3.0 header is a big plus and the board overclocks really nice. This is probably one of the absolute best budget boards out there. Running a 6 core AMD FX CPU @ 4.7GHZ no problems.
Cons: Wish it had more fan headers and SATA 3.0
Overall Review: Can't beat it in this price range. Don't buy ASROCK to save a couple bucks. Pay a few extra dollars and get a Gigabyte or ASUS.
