Asus Crosshair VI Extreme
Pros: This board is AMAZING!! This MB looks great and the layout is great. There is plenty of room for a Noctua NH-D15 with out hitting your graphics card. I like that there are two M2 slots because in the future if i replace my Samsung 960 pro with whatever Samsung puts out next I can use both in the same PC. Overclocking was easy on this board. the BIOS layout is great. There are so many settings to play with, you can fine tune your overclock with no issue.
Cons: Its a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Overall Review: I would highly recommend this board to anyone who wants to do an AM4 build, it has no competition.
Acer XF250Q 24.5" 240HZ
Pros: This is an amazing monitor! I had a 144HZ monitor and decided to make the switch to 240HZ and I do not regret it. I can see and feel the difference. It's not as dramatic as the switch from 60HZ to 144HZ but I do notice it. When I do use a 144HZ monitor after being on a 240HZ it feels strange. The colour on this monitor is actually really good for a TN. I work in the Print industry and I do understand the importance of colour accuracy. With that said the colour on this monitor is great, and it is even. there are no light or dark spots and it is a pleasure to look at. I feel when buying a monitor there is not a monitor that can do it all. either you have close to true RGB colour accuracy, or you have a fast monitor. when gaming speed is far more important. If you want to experience the most amazing colour possible then go outside and enjoy nature. If your in graphic design then there are better options, but you should still get this monitor as a second. This is Acer's new 240HZ monitor. It is the same as their more expensive monitors with a few options removed. There are no USB ports on the side and there is no "aggressive gaming stand" and of course no G-sync. Personally none of those extra features are worth it to me. In fact I prefer the look of this monitor over monitors that have aggressive game branding. this monitor is like a sleeper. I also love the thin bezel on this one. Performance 10/10 Look and style 10/10 image quality 10/10 (for TN)
Overall Review: I would highly recommend this monitor. Acer has done a fantastic job bringing a 240HZ monitor to the market for a great price. They don't have any competition at this price point. If your considering getting a 240HZ monitor, you should, and it should be this one. There is no better value for 240HZ.
G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 4000
Pros: This memory uses Samsung chips. I have it running on my Ryzen 1700. I was only able to go as high as 3200 but that is a limitation of the CPU memory controller.
Overall Review: I am very happy with this memory and would recommend it to anyone.
Samsung 960 PRO
Pros: This is the BEST SSD there is. There simply is no competition. The warranty is really nice too.
Cons: Its a bit expensive. I recommend you wait for a sale. Like most M2 ssd it runs warm. If your MOBO doesn't come with a heat sink I recommend you purchase an after market heat sink for it.
Overall Review: Since these, and any M2 ssd run warm, I recommend you get a heat sink. There are several companies that make some nice inexpensive ones. EKWB makes a nice one and and it doesn't look expensive but I have not tried it as my MOBO came with a heat sink for my M2. I would highly recommend this SSD for any new build. It is one of the best things you can do to enhance your overall computer experience. Everything loads so quickly and it makes the computer feel very snappy.
NH-D15 BEST CPU Cooler EVER
Pros: This is the best air cooler you can get. it outperforms most AIO water setups and has no pump to die and cant leak. I have mine on a Ryzen 1700 and it keeps it very cool at 3.8Ghz and is so quiet. It fits in my NZXT S340 Elite no problem.
Cons: Size ... maybe.
Overall Review: this CPU cooler is big but most motherboards these days have enough room around the CPU to keep it away from the first PCIe slot. most cases can accommodate this height too. if you don't install the second fan on the front then height should not be an issue. usually your memory will require you to push this second fan up to clear the memory thus adding to the overall height.
