I am very, very, happy with this card.
Pros: Ok, so this is the first video card I have bought in 5 years. I was using a GeForce 550Ti SLI mode and this is just a huge upgrade for me. Most of my builds are budget to mid and this card has impressed me very much. I was kind of of worried at first because this was not SLI capable, but after reading into it more, I knew that I was going to be safe for awhile without having to purchase another video card. When I opened the box from Newegg I knew I got something special. The packaging of this card is top notch. Opened the box and there was another box, black with the MSI Gaming logo on it. I already knew this card was going to be big and made sure I had enough room in my case. With some slight alterations, I was able to fit this card in nice and snug. Setup was easy and painless, afterall I have done this manytimes. So I booted up my machine and I saw the LED's light up on the card. It looked pretty sweet. So after installed the drivers, I needed to take this for a spin. So I started up BF4 and put all my settings on ultra for the first time and it was bliss. After all, remember I was using 2 550Ti's on a low to medium setting with little clipping. Anyway my next game to boot up and real test was Star Wars Battlefront. It was better than I expect it to be. Sorry I dont have FPS to advertise, just believe me when I say the game play was smooth. I am still bottlenecking the card though due to my processor and memory, but will have new memory by the end of the week and hopefully in the near future I will have a new and more powerful processor. I am currently using a AMD FX 4350 with 8GB of ram. To wrap this review up, I would definitley recommend this card. For the price, you cant beat it.
Cons: NONE WHAT SO EVER.
Overall Review: This is a follow up to my review: I am still very pleased with this graphics card, but I had an issue where one fan on the card would not run. This would happen alternately between both fans on the card. So if the the fan near the 8 pin connector was running the one near the I/O would not and vice versa. So I did an RMA first with Newegg, but unfortunately I could not due to cutting out the UPC from the original carton that the card came in for the rebate. So I had to send it to the MSI RMA. They excepted it and they sent me a refurbished unit. Now in MSI's policy it said that they would send a refurbished unit, so I expected that already. It took 2 weeks for the full turn around time, from sending to receiving my card again. I also had to pay for the RMA there, but they returned it on their dime. Anyway, I tested my card that I just got back and everything is working properly. They way I found this problem was going through MSI forums to see if there were updates for the vbios and also to see if people were happy with this card as well. So I stumbled on to a thread about this problem. So if you already own this card or about to purchase this, when you get this card, check if both fans come on while you are in a game or some other program that uses heavy GPU. Like I said in the beginning of this post review, I am still very pleased with this graphics card.
Not a happy camper.
Pros: I still have faith in Corsair. I use other products by them that are wonderful.
Cons: Ok first, having a Corsair H50 for the last five years with no problems is very concerning for me when I purchased this model. I upgraded to this model to get better cooling on my rig and to my dismay, my temps actually went up at idle speeds. And plus the software, Corsair Link, is very buggy. When I resume my computer from sleep mode I have to go through a process so that CL sees it again. I have reseated the pump several times, each time putting new thermal paste and still same results. I have even tried different configurations with placement of the radiator, front of case, back of case, using fans to exhaust, using fans to intake. Very disappointed. And one more thing, one of the fans looked broken or possibly a manufacturer defect. It almost looks like someone took a small bite out of it.
Overall Review: So I am RMA'ing this unit back to Newegg for a refund. I will be trying a different solution.
Pros: They work fine in my Phanteks Eclipse p400s case. Lights change with the other led lights on my case to match with a press of a button. These were perfect length when I attached them to the top inside of the case. Did not have to use the double sided tape included in this kit. So the magnets are doing a good job.
Cons: Be careful to not bend the ends of these led strips to much, which I unfortunately did, the silicon will split. Not much of a con.
Overall Review: If you use a couple of big fans to exhaust out of this case at the top, it will block some of the light. For me it is just enough to set it as "mood lighting". I seen some comments say they are to bright, but since the clear shield on my case is a little tinted, it is fine for me. Other than that, it is a good product.
So far so good and quiet.
Pros: Just got 2 of these fans today and installed them in my case. They are being used as exhaust at the top of the case. So far my temps have dropped anywhere from 4c to 6c which is really awesome. And boy these are quiet as all heck. Even though these are not 4 pin, I am not to concerned because I just needed some really good exhaust and a cooling solution. I am only giving 4 stars because, like I said, I just got these today and started to use them. I will update further down the road just to make sure they will last and perform well for a short, long haul.
Cons: None. Keeping fingers crossed.
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend them just for the price.
Awesome PSU, but still waiting on my rebate.
Pros: I happened on this PSU by replacing one that I ordered from Newegg that was DOA, twice! The CR recommended this one to me with a little discount and the rebate that it already had. Plus this one is modular. Granted, it is not fully modular, but hey, with the two main cables going to the board and cpu and the rest modular, that was perfect for me. All in all, I have had this PSU for about year now and it still running strong.
Cons: Still waiting on my rebate. Not really a con, more of a personal matter. I gave it 4 star because of this reason.
Overall Review: Definitely recommend.
Two units in 2 weeks!
Pros: Only good thing I have to say is the customer service for the returns were very helpful.
Cons: I had purchased this a couple weeks past and the first unit would not past post. Checked all connections and rechecked. So I sent it back the same day I asked for a replacement (big mistake). Received second unit about a week and half later. Same result, wouldn't past post. Unreal! So I called CS again to RMA. Asked if there was anything comparable for same price. CS put me on hold while he talked with a specialist. He was able to find me PSU, different brand but same watts and modular, but added $. Then he said he would give a small discount plus there was a rebate on top of that. So, all in all, I still save.
Overall Review: I have bought refurbished stuff from Newegg before and they worked fine. This is my first time experiencing this with a product from Newegg. This won't deter me from buying from them since they have some of the best deals around and they do offer friendly customer service.
