Pros: Excellent price, runs great, nice and cool! Hasn't breached 68C even under heavy gaming load. Idles around 45C.
Received rebate approval confirmation over a week ago.
Overall Review: People need to learn how to submit rebate forms properly. I've gotten several rebates on newegg products (nearly everything I've ever bought here) and never had an issue yet all I see is that people think they're getting cheated out of their rebates on everything. Probably submitting them after the rebate had expired since I also see that people but something and let it over a month before installing. Rebates usually expire 30 days after the rebate availability period ends.
Pros: Excellent board, looks slick. The onboard heatsink system keeps it under 40C! Submitted rebate properly and received processing and acceptance confirmation via texts around a week ago.
BIOS came fully updated, and it can be updated without a processor. Instructions are in the manual.
Cons: Tried to talk to customer service before purchase due to concerns about processor support without BIOS update. It was clear that the rep didn't read my initial message and simply told me not to try to upgrade a laptop (Wth). Seems that the inquiry system just randomly added a notebook model to my inquiry. It took about 10 messages back and forth to get things straightened out, by which point I had already ordered, installed, and was using the board.
Pros: Purchased this along with an ASUS A88X-PRO motherboard. Runs great, stays cool. Using with Corsair H60 water cooler and after several hours of Fallout 4 on Ultra graphics, it's not even over 55C. Usually idles around 45C. System is much snappier overall.
Overall Review: Just a heads up, this processor, and any 'black box' edition AMD processors, do not have a GPU do you must use a video card. On board video will not work. This is possibly the reason for some of the alleged DOA reviews. I've purchased several components from newegg and aside from issues with a refurbished video card, I've never had a DOA item.
Pros: Great price
Cons: Died with a month
Overall Review: Got this, took the advice and moved the extraneous sticker before installation. Everything was fine at first, but then it started crashing and Windows hardware viewer and Steam reported the incorrect amount of RAM. Thought the problem might have been other older components in the system, but the problems persisted after upgrading. Have contacted warranty company and getting a refund (gift card). Will be buying a new card this time. Just glad I got the warranty.
Pros: Great price, enough paste for 2-4 applications!
Using with Corsair H60 water cooler, keep processor under 45C under heavy load.
Was using with after market air cooler, also kept processor under 50C under heavy load.
Overall Review: Highly recommended!
Pros: Got a good price (was on sale).
Seems to be well constructed, better than implied in reviews.
Working well, quiet, keeps processor under 45C under load.
Cons: Radiator can't be placed on exterior of case, as I was told it could be by Corsair chat rep.
Does not include a full backplate/bracket set, assuming that you still have the stock backplate.
Overall Review: When I am able to install this, I will reevaluate my rating. Every other cooler I've bought has come with a full backplate/bracket set. I assumed this would be no different. I removed the stock backplate and retainer several years ago when I got a bigger air cooler. I didn't hang on to it because I assumed anything I bought down the road, especially a water cooler, would include full mounting equipment. Thankfully, I've found a replacement stock AMD retainer cheap and free shipping. Unfortunately, my attempts to get this installed with with bracket I have has ruined the preapplied TIM, which from what I understand is pretty good. I bought some Arctic Silver along with this, not realizing it would have quality paste included (previous versions reviewed here came with cheap stuff), so at least I have something, but allegedly the preapplied stuff is better (we'll see, could be poor application by people).
Now that I have been able to install this, it's running well, keeps the processor nice and cool even with the Arctic Silver TIM. Fan is much quieter than reviews would have you believe.
Overall, I am happy with this purchase.
Pros: Supports three displays at the same time
Cons: Not a performance card
Overall Review: Was purchased to be an upgrade from a Radeon HD 7800 series card with 1GB RAM. I failed to account for the impact of going from a 256-bit card to a 128-bit card and have ended up with exactly the same level of performance. The only improvement is that I can have all 3 of my monitors on at the same time.
I would not recommend this card to anyone looking for a performance card. If you simply need a 2GB card to meet a system requirement and don't care about anything else, then this is fine.
