Thermaltake View 31 Dual Tempered Glass ATX Tt LCS Certified Black Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case CA-1H8-00M1WN-00

Pros: Plenty of space; Plenty of room for fans; Tempered glass; Wiring is a breeze; Deep and WIDE

Cons: Set up of HDD cage

Overall Review: Absolutely the best case I’ve ever had the pleasure to work in. Picked it up for $89.99 on Black Friday and it’s a STEAL. Plenty of cut-outs and room behind the mobo tray to hide wiring. The options for fans are incredible. I’ve got two 200mm on the top, the two 140mm LED fans it came with on the front and an AIO cooler on the back exhaust sucking air in. There was even room for a 140mm fan on the bottom between my PSU and the HDD cage to blow cool, fresh air on to my video card (RAELLY liked that touch). All intakes are filtered. My HHD and SSD are running 22c-35c depending on ambient temps and usage. CPU temps are irrelevant to the cooling capacity of the case 'cause I'm running an AIO water cooler drawing air from outside the case. There’s only two cons as I see it and both minor. First, I’m not so hot on the glass back. I mean I’m trying to hide stuff back there. Second, I’m not a big fan of HDD cages set perpendicular to the air flow from the front fan, kind impedes airflow more than necessary. Neither cons bad enough to deduct an egg. There is one more thing that I don’t necessarily see as a con but would’ve liked to see. Would’ve been nice to be able to mount a HDD on the base the removable HDD cage is attached to. That, coupled with the ability to mount an SSD behind the mobo tray would have allowed a cleaner, less restricted front air intake. Also, be aware this is a WIDE case and it is HEAVY. No problem getting PSU leads to reach, as it’s not all that long/tall. I liked it but some may be taken aback.

Most Critical Review

Ok but Cable and Plug is Flimsy

Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 USB Connector Circumaural Stereo Headset
Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 USB Connector Circumaural Stereo Headset

Pros: Good sound, mic works well

Cons: The cord and USB plug is sort of flimsy. My kids have managed to almost separated the USB plug from the rubber boot. It still works and my kids may be a little rough.

Overall Review: I've owned ALOT worse. Many headphone/microphone combos I've owed were a lot flimsier with really thin cords

Price is Right

MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS AM4 AMD B550 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: LOVE the BIOS flash button, Pre-installed backplate, Price is right

Cons: No screw for NVMe drive...grrrr

Overall Review: Was going to do a ground-up build to replace my ageing Ryzen 1600 set-up now that prices have come down when life hit in the way of some big house repair bills. Figured I'd put it on hold until my finances recovered when my gaming rig took a dump. Needed to get up n running cheap so I got this and a Ryzen 5500 and paired it with my existing RAM (16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series F4-3200C16D-16GVKB) and RX580. Seems to be working great. Had a problem getting it to get past boot screen after first installing Windows but reinstalling the OS, loading all the drivers and fully updating it seems to have done the trick. LOVE the BIOS flashback button, made updating the BIOS without a known working CPU a breeze....sort of. I made my first attempt with an old, 4GB USB drive and all it did was give me a red blinking light for 30 minutes until I finally just pulled it out and powered down (Bricked a BIOS in the past and was kinda nervous). Tried a different USB stick and the PSU spun up, the RGB lights came on and it did its thing. Only negative I have to say is there was no screw for the NVMe post. Might not be something to take an egg off maybe but that coulda set me back a few more days ordering one of those when they can't even add a penny to the production cost for pete's sake, c'mon MSI. Luckily I had TWO on my old Gigabyte board I was replacing. Overall, happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone else looking for a budget solution.

Nice Stop-Gap

AMD Ryzen 5 5500 - Ryzen 5 5000 Series 6-Core Socket AM4 65W Desktop Processor - 100-100000457BOX
AMD Ryzen 5 5500 - Ryzen 5 5000 Series 6-Core Socket AM4 65W Desktop Processor - 100-100000457BOX

Pros: Relatively cheap, runs cool, latest Zen architecture, games

Cons: None really....disabled, repurposed APU if I HAVE to say something negative

Overall Review: Was planning on building a whole new rig to replace my ageing gaming computer now that prices have come down but then go hit with the news I gotta replace my central air and figured my old system is good enough to put a new build on hold when my motherboard and/or CPU took a dump. Needed to get up and running at a minimal cost so I paired this with an MSI B550 Gaming Plus mobo with my old RX580 and 16BG RAM. I used the heatsink from my old 1600 which has about twice the aluminum as the one this comes with and a copper slug in the core (no heatpipes) and it idles at 28-32C and I havent seen it get over 50C during 2+ hour gaming sessions. Seems to do what I need it to do. Would recommend it as a stop-gap if youre running the old Ryzens like I was and are waiting for the new AM5 or if you need to put together a budget build.

Pros: Snug, secure fit, reasonably priced, decent shipping, works

Cons: None

Overall Review: I have a gaming computer hooked to my living room TV and my headset won't reach to my recliner so I got these so I can game online with friends from my LaZy Boy (have 'em hooked to the mic too). They work well enough, no crackle. Happy with the purchase.

Pros: Quiet, reliable and cost effective

Cons: NONE

Overall Review: I've got this as a storage drive in a gaming PC with an SSD. I've had it for almost 2 years now with narry a problems. It's quiet too. I'd purchase it all over again and will use another for my next new build.
