My second GIGABYTE board that works great amid others having issues

Pros: -Bios Flash successful (1.0.0.4 12/06/2019) on fresh build with CPU/RAM Removed -Trident Z Royal solid 3608.78 MHz with manual OC and 1800MHz Infinity Fabric -RGB Fusion 2.0 works on RAM and MB RGB (see in cons) -Great looking board -M.2 Heatsink keeps drive as cool as SATA SSD -BIOS is a learning curve, but covers everything -MB fan is quiet -Fan hub works -Fast Intel LAN -VRM and board runs cool while gaming

Cons: -Lack of fan headers on board -Placement of Type-C header -RGB fusion software works great with MB RGB, but RAM on full brightness on most presets -MB RGB is placed behind things or behind thick clear plastic. Lacks brightness.

Overall Review: After all the research of different boards for 3rd gen Ryzen, I narrowed it down to this board, Crosshair VIII Hero, MSI ACE, and ASRock TAICHI. Since I have the Ryzen 7 3800x and not the Ryzen 9 3900x , I felt the other boards were a little overkill for what I needed. X570 is fairly new and this board is first edition, no revisions, and was worried about potential issues, but so far so good. Once I got all my components to put together the PC, I looked up that it BEST the do the BIOS flash with a thumb drive and with the CPU and RAM removed, so i followed the instructions and the new BIOS installed successfully. I was a bit nervous because the light didn't come on the first try and this is my first time doing it, but after repeating the same sequence a couple time, it DID work. I then installed CPU, AMD Prism, RAM, and GPU, Loaded into BIOS and setup RAM timing, RAM voltage, Infinity Fabric, mildly aggressive fan curves and kept CPU timings to AUTO, but made sure AMD Precision Boost was disabled. IF YOU HAVE TWO RAM STICK, YOU HAVE TO USE SLOTS A2 AND B2 OR YOU WILL NEVER GET OVER 2133MHz. Booted Windows 10 Pro with UEFI Thumb drive, and sucessfully installed and booted properly. At the time I had EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SCC. I installed drivers and performed WIN10 updates, installed the mass amount of applications and that's about it. Coming from a FX-8350 on a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Rev-4 (Still going strong on 4.24GHz OC), this was a huge difference. While gaming on AAA titles or stress tests, every core at some point goes to just under 4.5GHz (AVG 4.1GHz) @ just under 1.5v (avg 1.3v) with it set to "AUTO" which seems to me a high voltage, but no heat related issues or crashes. VRM runs cool and other than the CPU (73 max), the max temp across the board is in the 50's, but mostly in the 30's or less. Even after upgrading to a Sapphire 5700XT Special Edition last week ( didn't have driver issues with that either other than 2 games) which really woke up the CPU, but didn't drastically change board temps. I was considering getting an AIO and tinker with timings to get a stable overclock, but kinda like the AUTO feature where it's not running higher clocks 24/7, which in theory should prolong chip life, but probably gonna get the AORUS ACT800 to lower max temps and enable precision boost because I have great airflow in my Fractal Designs Define S2 and also waiting for THERMOSIPHON from ICEGIANT for the best cooling. Enjoying the Audio card playing 24-bit audio to my stereo using optical. I didn't really buy this board for the RGB, but I must say that it could be better. The lights themselves are bright and accurately display colors; however, the one behind the MOSFET heatsink is too far back and doesn't really shine like it could (looks to be mounted on board...not a deal breaker) and the 2 lower strips are covered by a thick diffused plastic, that completely kills the brightness and color accuracy, because you can see it's true potential leaking from behind the board. It's sad that the AORUS RGB software works better on my Trident Z RAM better than Trident's own software, but I'm glad I can sync it with MB and soon to be GPU when I receive my 3-pin ARGB cable. I'm hoping that they can figure out the RAM brightness before Trident does because all I want is a lower brightness on the static color preset. If your like me and want to gamble with good components that may have issues, but turns out to work fine, and makes a great, future-proof, $200 board for your setup, this is the one for you. Worst case scenario, you have to return it or contact the manufacture for the warranty.

Pros: -Nice RGB -Plug and play on newer Aorus X570 Elite BIOS -Works at rated speed

Cons: -Packaging could be better from Newegg (minus one Egg) -Wear gloves as fingerprints will show up on these

Overall Review: Even after reviews of people having issues with the XMP profile on Aorus X570 boards, I decided to give it a shot and purchase these. Before installing CPU, GPU, and RAM, I updated my BIOS to the latest version from December (F11-AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.4) using a thumb drive, and successfully updated with no issues. Before even installing Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, I went straight to BIOS settings and manually set the timing to 19-20-20-40-60 @ 1.35v and the Infinity Fabric to 1800Mhz. Saved and began installing WIndows. After only a couple hours on the new build, I've been installing like crazy and everything seems very smooth after coming from an FX-8350 OC with 1866Mhz DDR3 to R7 3800X with 3600Mhz. HWiNFO64, and CPU-Z are showing clocks @ 20-19-20-40-85 (3593.6Mhz), while task manager shows 3600Mhz. Once I get settled into this new build, I might slightly OC RAM, but honestly it just ran at the speed it was supposed to. I can't speak on the RGB software as I haven't installed it yet, but RGB is default rainbow cycle and is very bright.
