StarTech.com MU12MF 12 ft. PC Speaker Extension Audio Cable Male to Female

The StarTech.com MU12MF is a 12-foot, black 3.5 mm stereo audio extension cable with a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other, suited to people who need more distance between a computer’s audio-out port and PC speakers.

Recommended For

• Desktop PC users whose 3.5 mm stereo speakers need to sit farther from the computer; the cable adds up to 12 ft between the audio output and speakers.
• Laptop users with a 3.5 mm audio output who want to place connected speakers farther from the laptop at a desk or in a room.
• iPod, iPhone, or other MP3-player users connecting the device’s 3.5 mm audio output to speakers positioned farther away.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When a desktop computer is tucked under or beside a desk, connect its 3.5 mm audio output to powered PC speakers on the desktop; the extension provides extra reach without moving the computer.
• When powered stereo speakers need to sit farther from a computer or laptop, use the cable to extend the audio connection and place the speakers where they fit the setup, within the cable’s reach.
• For music from an iPod, iPhone, or other MP3 player, connect the device’s 3.5 mm audio output to speakers that are farther away; the extension helps keep the source device nearby.
• In a computer setup where stereo headphones need more cable reach, use the extension for headphone audio; it is a stereo audio connection, not a headset-microphone extension.
