The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 (21Q80020US) is a 16-inch mobile workstation with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell graphics, 64 GB of memory, and a 2 TB SSD, suited to professionals who need substantial computing and graphics capability in a portable Windows 11 Pro laptop.
Recommended For
- CAD specialists and engineers who need a 16-inch workstation for professional 3D design, CAD, and visualization, but want a thinner, more portable alternative to a larger workstation. Reviews tested the P1 Gen 8 with professional graphics benchmarks and found it suited to workstation applications.
- Creative professionals who edit video or work with detailed visual content on the move and value the tested 3.2K OLED touchscreen, while still needing discrete workstation graphics.
- Developers and technical professionals who run demanding Windows applications, multitask across large projects, or use moderate GPU-accelerated and AI workflows, and need a mobile workstation rather than a desktop replacement.
- Professionals who travel between offices or work sites and need workstation-class graphics in a 16-inch laptop that weighs about four pounds, rather than carrying a heavier mobile workstation.
