Overwhelm your home with the power of next-generation connectivity with the RT-AX1800S Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router. This innovative device is equipped with the latest WiFi 6 ( 802.11 ax) standard, which supports MU-MIMO and OFDMA technology, ensuring superior efficiency and throughput. Experience ultra-fast WiFi speed with the RT-AX1800S, which supports 1024-QAM for dramatically accelerated wireless connections. With a total networking speed of approximately 1800Mbps, it offers 574 Mbps on the 2.4GH z band and 1201 Mbps on the 5GHz band. The RT-AX1800S is not just about speed; it's also about capacity and efficiency.
It supports both MU-MIMO and OFDMA techniques to efficiently allocate channels and communicate with multiple devices simultaneously. This feature is perfect for multi-device households, providing up to 4X greater network capacity and efficiency in traffic-dense environments. Equipped with five Gigabit ports, including one Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports, the RT-AX1800S offers connectivity that is 10X faster than 100-Base T Ethernet. This ensures that your Smart TV, game consoles, NAS storage devices, and backup internet have their own dedicated ports, making the RT-AX1800S a reliable digital home hub.
The RT-AX1800S also prioritizes your home network's security with AiProtection powered by Trend Micro. This feature blocks internet security threats for all your connected smart devices, even those without their own antivirus capabilities, such as IoT devices. The RT-AX1800S also offers power-saving features, like Target Wake Time (TWT), which schedules designated intervals for devices to transmit data, reducing power consumption and improving battery life. Experience better coverage with the RT-AX1800S, which provides increased WiFi signal range and better coverage by dividing each channel into smaller sub-channels. These sub-channels have a smaller bandwidth that enables them to travel up to 80% farther, ensuring a robust WiFi connection throughout your home.
With the ASUSWRT dashboard UI, you can easily set up, monitor, and control network applications all in one intuitive area. Enjoy fast setup, multi-device detection, and flexible settings to make the most of your network performance. In summary, the RT-AX1800S Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router is a powerful, efficient, and secure solution for your home networking needs, offering superior speed, capacity, and coverage.

The ASUS RT-AX1800S is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router with AX1800 combined wireless speeds—up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1,201 Mbps on 5 GHz—plus four Gigabit LAN ports. It suits homes seeking an efficient Wi-Fi 6 upgrade for multiple connected devices.
Recommended For
- People in a condo or single-story home who want Wi-Fi 6 for everyday browsing, 4K streaming, and downloads, especially when their internet plan is around 600 Mbps or less.
- Remote workers who need a straightforward home connection for video calls, browsing, and file downloads, and can connect a work computer by Ethernet when they want a steadier link.
- Households adding Wi-Fi 6 devices and using several nearby phones, laptops, TVs, or smart-home devices for routine streaming and online tasks.
- People who already use compatible ASUS routers and want to add this unit as an AiMesh node to extend coverage into another part of the home.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a small home or condo, use Wi-Fi 6 phones, laptops, and TVs for 4K streaming and large downloads; testing and reviews indicate the router can handle these everyday tasks, though results depend on distance and wireless congestion.
- When several household members are online at once, stream video on multiple devices while others browse or use a laptop; a Tom’s Hardware test streamed video on four devices during its performance checks, though busy Wi-Fi environments can affect speeds.
- For everyday online gaming or video calls from a room with a good signal, users can expect responsive Wi-Fi for typical use; one review measured low latency, but this is an entry-level dual-band router rather than a guarantee of uninterrupted play in every home.
- Connect a TV, game console, or desktop by Ethernet when you want a direct home-network connection; the router’s four gigabit LAN ports provide wired connections for devices near the router.
- In a home where Wi-Fi does not reach a distant room reliably, pair the router with a compatible ASUS AiMesh router to extend coverage; placement and building materials affect results, so expansion does not guarantee equal speeds everywhere.
- For a home with smart devices that may not have their own security software, enable AiProtection to help monitor the network and block certain malicious connections before they reach those devices.
