The ToughArmor MB840M2P-B converts a PCIe 4x, 8x or 16x expansion slot into a M. 2 NVMe removable frame and allows the exchange of M. 2 NVMe SSDs without having to open the computer case.
A typical M. 2 SSD is installed on a motherboard or adapter card and fixed with a tiny screw. The installation requires that the computer is turned off, which can be a problem with systems that do not allow downtime. In addition, the physical installation is tedious and time-intensive. With the MB840M2P-B and the integrated tray design, you can use a PCIe expansion slot to make the M. 2 NVMe SSD installation faster and easier.
The patent-pending adjustable M. 2 lock lets you insert a M. 2 NVMe SSD (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, 22110) into the tray and adjust the M. 2 bracket to the length of the SSD in an instant.
The special slimline tray is made entirely of metal and functions as a heat sink to dissipate the heat emitted by the M. 2 NVMe SSD.
As a PCIe slot bracket of the MB840M2P-B, both a full profile and a low profile slot bracket are available which can be exchanged for a flexible system installation.
The ToughArmor MB840M2P-B is designed for the PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. It is also compatible with PCIe 3.0 / 4.0 x4, x8 and x16 slots.
As is usual for our ToughArmor series, this model is also equipped with a completely made of metal housing, tray and slot plate to ensure a long service life of the product. An anti-vibration mechanism has been integrated to protect the SSD from physical damage.
By using the PCIe 3.0 interface, power and data are transmitted via the same connector, preventing the use of unnecessary cables in your system.
