Proctor Silex 80402 Black Sound Shield Coffee Grinder

The Proctor Silex 80402 Sound Shield is a blade coffee grinder designed for home coffee drinkers who want a quieter morning routine; it is rated 50% quieter than other blade coffee grinders from Hamilton Beach Brands and can grind enough beans for up to 12 cups.

Recommended For

• People who grind coffee early in a shared home and want a blade grinder that is quieter than typical models, while understanding that it still makes noise.
• Single-cup coffee drinkers who want to grind beans quickly at home for drip coffee or a reusable single-serve pod; the removable cup makes grounds easier to transfer.
• Drip-coffee and percolator users who do not need a precise grind setting; expert testing found it especially effective at producing coarse grounds.
• People who want a straightforward countertop grinder for occasional or daily home use, with a removable, dishwasher-safe grinding cup for cleanup.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When someone wants freshly ground coffee before the household wakes, the Sound Shield design is intended to make a short grinding task less disruptive than a typical blade grinder, though it is not silent.
• For a daily single cup or reusable coffee pod, users can grind a small amount on demand instead of hand-cranking beans or relying on pre-ground coffee; customer feedback describes this as quick and straightforward.
• When making coffee for several people, users can grind beans for a quick brew or a full pot in one preparation, with the marked removable bowl helping measure and pour the grounds.
• For a simple home coffee routine, users can grind beans just before brewing with a press-and-release operation; the blade grinder suits convenience-focused use better than situations where highly uniform grounds are the priority.
• After grinding, users can lift out the bowl to transfer the grounds and clean it separately; the dishwasher-safe bowl makes cleanup easier after regular coffee preparation.
