The StarTech.com HDMM7MP is a 23 ft (7 m) HDMI 2.0 cable for connecting HDMI-equipped devices such as game consoles or Blu-ray players to 4K TVs and monitors, supporting 4K at 60 Hz and up to 18 Gbps bandwidth. It suits home theater and desktop setups that need a longer cable run.
Recommended For
- Home-theater owners connecting a 4K TV or receiver to a source several meters away who need up to 4K at 60 Hz, HDR10, and multichannel audio over one cable.
- People setting up a projector or display across a room who want a 7 m (23 ft) HDMI connection without adding an extender for a compatible 4K 60 Hz setup.
- Office or meeting-room users connecting a desktop, laptop, or workstation to a distant HDMI monitor or display, when the source and display both support the cable’s HDMI 2.0 capabilities.
- Installers or home users who prefer a Premium High Speed HDMI-certified cable for a fixed 4K 60 Hz connection and want certification intended to verify performance at up to 18 Gbps.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- Connect a Blu-ray player or other HDMI source at a media cabinet to a 4K TV across the room; the 7 m cable provides reach for 4K at up to 60 Hz and HDR10 when the source and TV support those formats.
- Run a signal from a computer or media device to a UHD projector positioned away from the equipment; the long cable can avoid moving the source next to the projector, with supported video quality depending on both devices.
- Connect a desktop, workstation, or laptop to a UHD monitor across a desk or room; compatible setups can display up to 4K at 60 Hz without placing the computer beside the screen.
- Use a compatible game console with a 4K TV when the console and display are separated by several metres; it supports up to 4K at 60 Hz, but does not provide HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K at 120 Hz.
- Connect an older HDMI device to a newer TV or monitor; backward compatibility lets the connection work at the formats supported by both devices.
