The StarTech.com HD2MM10MA is a 30 ft active HDMI 2.0 cable for connecting a 4K display to a source up to 10 m away, making it suitable for conference rooms, classrooms, and other long cable runs. It supports 4K at 60 Hz and has a CL2 rating for in-wall installation.
Recommended For
- Home-theater owners routing a 4K/60Hz HDR source to a TV or projector across a room, especially when a long, fixed cable run is needed.
- Schools, conference rooms, and boardrooms connecting a presentation computer or media player to a projector or display over a planned, in-wall run.
- Installers setting up a fixed HDMI connection inside a wall, where the 30-foot reach and CL2 rating suit the planned route.
- Users extending a 4K/60Hz, 18Gbps HDMI 2.0 connection between a source and display who can follow the cable’s source-to-display direction.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a meeting room or classroom, connect an AV source or receiver to a ceiling-mounted projector across the room; the long run can keep the projector in place while carrying presentations and audio at up to 4K/60Hz when the connected equipment supports it.
- In a home theater, run HDMI from a receiver or equipment cabinet to a projector at the back of the room; this avoids relocating the source gear, with the cable suited to HDMI 2.0 video formats up to 4K/60Hz rather than 4K/120Hz.
- For a fixed in-wall AV installation, route the cable between an HDMI source location and a wall-mounted display or projector; its CL2 rating suits in-wall runs, and the labeled TV end needs to connect to the display because the cable is directional.
- When a laptop or other HDMI source is kept at the front of a room but the large display is farther away, use the cable to bridge the distance; attendees can view the same presentation on the remote screen without placing the source beside it.
- For digital signage, connect a media player or other HDMI source to a display mounted elsewhere in the space; the cable supports a long, fixed connection for compatible HDMI 2.0 video and audio equipment.
