The StarTech.com HDPMM25 is a 25-foot, plenum-rated HDMI-to-HDMI cable with male connectors at both ends, suited to in-wall, ceiling, or air-plenum installations that require CMP-rated cabling and support for Ultra HD 4K x 2K HDMI.
Recommended For
- AV installers wiring a projector or display through a ceiling, wall, duct, or plenum where a CMP-rated cable is required.
- Schools, conference rooms, and offices that need a fixed 25-foot HDMI connection from a laptop or workstation to a projector or large display for presentations.
- Home-theater users routing HDMI between a source and TV or projector over 25 feet, when 4K at up to 30 Hz meets their display needs.
- Installers connecting HDMI-equipped devices such as a Blu-ray player, DVR, or game console to a display in a permanent commercial or residential setup.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a classroom or meeting room, run HDMI from a lectern or room computer through a ceiling plenum to a projector; the CMP-rated jacket suits installations where that space requires plenum-rated cable, while the cable carries the source’s audio and video to the projector.
- When installing a display connection through a wall, conduit, or ceiling, use this cable to link HDMI-equipped AV equipment to a TV or monitor without leaving the cable exposed across the room; its CMP/FT6 rating is intended for runs where that rating is required.
- For a commercial display installation, connect an HDMI source such as a Blu-ray player or DVR to a TV across a room using a concealed cable route; the result is a fixed audio/video connection rather than a temporary cable laid along the floor.
- In a home-theater setup where the cable must pass through an air-handling space, connect an HDMI source to a television or projector; the cable supports resolutions up to 4K, with the actual resolution and refresh rate depending on the connected devices and signal format.
- For a classroom or commercial installation, connect a game console to a large display over a concealed HDMI run; it provides a direct wired connection, but users should check that the console’s desired video mode is within the cable’s supported capabilities.
