The StarTech.com HDPMM50 is a 50 ft male-to-male HDMI cable with a CMP/FT6 plenum rating, suited to installers running HDMI through ceilings, walls, ducts, or other spaces that require plenum-rated cabling.
Recommended For
- AV installers wiring a projector or display through a ceiling, wall, duct, or plenum where the installation calls for CMP/FT6-rated cable.
- Schools, conference rooms, and commercial AV teams that need a fixed 50-foot HDMI connection between equipment and a display, with support up to 4K at 30Hz.
- Home-theater owners routing HDMI through a room or building to connect a source and TV or projector, when the run is within 50 feet and 4K at 30Hz is sufficient.
- Installers connecting HDMI equipment that needs Full HD video at up to 120Hz over a long, permanently routed cable run.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- In a classroom or meeting room, run the cable from an AV source or wall connection to a ceiling-mounted projector; the 50-foot reach can connect equipment across the room while carrying HDMI video and audio.
- For a permanent installation where the cable passes through a ceiling, wall, or air-handling plenum, use it when the project requires CMP/FT6-rated cable; the rating suits those installation locations, subject to local requirements.
- In a home theater, connect an AV receiver or media source to a distant TV or projector without routing a short cable across the floor; the cable supports resolutions up to 4K at 30 Hz, so check that this meets the display setup’s requirements.
- For a conference-room display fed from equipment elsewhere in the room, use the long run to keep the source and display in separate locations; the cable provides a direct HDMI connection, though the full installed run and connected devices can affect signal performance.
