The StarTech Right Angle HDMI 2.0 Adapter is a horizontal 90-degree male-to-female adapter for users who need to route an HDMI connection in a tight space while supporting up to 4K at 60Hz and 18Gbps bandwidth.
Recommended For
- People wall-mounting a TV with rear-facing HDMI ports who need the cable to turn sideways instead of protruding straight toward the wall.
- TV and AV-cabinet owners routing HDMI cables through a shallow space who need a compact right-angle connection at a rear or concealed port.
- People who frequently connect and disconnect HDMI cables and want a replaceable adapter between the cable and device to reduce wear on the device’s HDMI port.
- Home-entertainment users connecting HDMI 2.0 devices at up to 4K 60Hz who need to redirect a cable or reduce a tight bend near the port.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- When a wall-mounted TV has little clearance behind it, the adapter turns the HDMI connection sideways so the cable can run along the back or side instead of sticking straight out. Check that the horizontal bend points in the direction your setup needs.
- When an HDMI cable is sharply bent behind a TV, monitor, or media device, the adapter provides a right-angle connection that can reduce bending strain at the port and cable plug.
- In a shallow AV cabinet or against a wall, the adapter can redirect a rear-facing HDMI cable into the available space, making it easier to connect equipment without forcing the cable to bend sharply.
- When a monitor arm or nearby hardware makes a straight HDMI plug difficult to reach or fit, the adapter shifts the cable’s direction at the port, which may create enough room for the connection.
- For a display where the HDMI cable is frequently connected and unplugged, the adapter can serve as an intermediary connection point, reducing repeated handling and bending at the display’s HDMI port.
