StarTech.com ADJSHELF 1U Adjustable Mounting Depth Vented Rack Mount Shelf - 175 lbs / 80 kg - Fixed Server Rack Shelf

The StarTech.com ADJSHELF is a 1U vented fixed rack shelf for standard 19-inch server racks, with adjustable mounting depth from 19.5 to 38.3 inches and an 80 kg capacity. It suits IT teams needing to support networking devices, KVM switches, tools, or other equipment in a server room or office.

Recommended For

• IT or home-lab operators who need a fixed rack-mounted platform for non-rackmount networking gear, such as a router, small switch, or KVM, in a compatible 19-inch rack.
• Server-room or office users fitting a shelf to racks with different front-to-rear post spacing; the mounting depth adjusts from 19.5 to 38.3 inches.
• AV or network equipment installers who want a vented, 1U shelf for equipment or accessories that need a stable surface rather than rack rails.
• Rack users storing heavier equipment or tools on a shelf, provided the combined stationary load stays within the 175 lb (80 kg) rating.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• When a 19-inch rack needs to hold network gear or a KVM switch that does not mount directly to the rack rails, an installer can place it on this fixed shelf, keeping the equipment inside the rack rather than on a separate surface.
• When installing a shelf in a rack with a different front-to-rear post distance, the user can adjust the mounting brackets to match the rack depth, allowing the shelf to fit within its stated adjustment range.
• In a server room or wiring closet, an IT worker can use the shelf for rack tools or A/V accessories, giving them a designated place to store items instead of leaving them loose on nearby surfaces.
• When placing computer or A/V equipment on a rack shelf, the user gets a vented support surface rather than a solid platform, allowing airflow through the shelf openings.
