StarTech.com LTANCHOR Laptop Cable Lock Anchor - Steel - Computer Security Cable Anchor - Desk Mount Security Anchor Point - Screw-On Lock Anchor

The StarTech.com LTANCHOR is a steel desk-mount anchor point for a separately purchased cable lock, helping offices, schools, and shared workspaces secure laptops, docks, or other equipment to a solid surface.

Recommended For

• Office or IT teams securing laptops, docks, or other equipment at fixed desks, where they can install a cable-lock anchor and use a separate compatible cable lock.
• Retail, healthcare, or business operators who want a fixed anchor point to help deter grab-and-go theft from counters, workstations, or other solid furniture.
• Organizations outfitting shared or unattended workstations, where equipment stays at a designated desk and a cable lock can be attached when the device is left there.
• Users who already have a compatible cable lock and need to add an anchor point to a solid desk, cabinet, counter, or similar fixed surface.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• In a shared office, an employee can attach a cable lock to an anchor fixed to the desk, making a compatible laptop harder to remove when briefly left unattended.
• In a school computer lab or library workstation, staff can mount an anchor at a desk and tether a compatible laptop or dock, adding a visible deterrent against casual walk-off theft.
• At a reception desk or training-room workstation, an organization can use a fixed anchor to give a shared computer or compatible peripheral a consistent place to lock up between uses.
• In a home office, someone can install the anchor on a suitable solid desk or cabinet when there is no convenient fixed object to loop a cable around; the connected device is then tethered while the user steps away.
• For a desk-mounted docking setup, a compatible dock or other device can be tethered to the anchor so it is less convenient to carry away; the cable lock is purchased separately, and the setup is a deterrent rather than theft-proof protection.
