StarTech.com LTLOCKKEY Keyed Cable Lock - Push-to-Lock Button - 2m (6.5') Steel Cable - Locking Cable for Laptop - Computer Security Cable Lock

The StarTech.com LTLOCKKEY is a keyed security cable for laptops and other equipment with a Kensington K-Slot, suited to people who want a quick, one-hand push-to-lock setup and two keys instead of a combination.

Recommended For

• Students and remote workers using a laptop with a standard Kensington K-Slot who want to tether it to a sturdy table in a library, café, or shared study area during short breaks.
• Hybrid and hot-desk workers with a K-Slot laptop who want a portable physical deterrent they can attach to a fixed desk or other sturdy anchor when stepping away.
• Office, retail, and institutional IT teams securing compatible K-Slot docks, monitors, projectors, or computers at fixed workstations or display areas.
• People who prefer a keyed lock and quick push-to-lock operation over remembering a combination, especially when securing the same compatible device at a regular workstation.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• At a shared office desk, a worker loops the cable around a fixed desk leg and locks a compatible laptop in place; it makes a quick, unattended walk-off harder while they step away.
• In a campus library or study area, a student secures a K-Slot laptop to a heavy table or other stationary object; the cable helps deter someone from simply picking it up during a brief absence.
• At a café or other public workspace, a remote worker can tether a compatible laptop to a fixed object while taking a short break; the keyed lock adds a physical deterrent, though it is not a substitute for supervision or stronger security.
• In an office or lab, an IT team can secure a compatible dock, monitor, or other workstation device to a fixed anchor; this helps discourage casual removal of equipment that is left set up between users.
• At a reception counter, classroom, or retail display, staff can tether a compatible laptop or other K-Slot device to fixed furniture; the lock reduces easy grab-and-go removal while keeping the equipment available for use.
