The STARTECH 146B-USBC-HDMI4K-AOC is a 15-meter active optical USB-C-to-HDMI cable rated for 4K at 60Hz, suited to users who need to connect a USB-C video source to an HDMI display across a long distance.
Recommended For
- Home-theater or projector users who need to run video from a USB-C laptop or computer to an HDMI display across a room or along a longer cable route, up to 15.2 m.
- AV installers planning a long in-wall USB-C-to-HDMI video run; the cable is CL3-rated for in-wall installations.
- Presenters or trainers connecting a USB-C laptop to a distant HDMI projector or screen, when the laptop supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and the display setup can supply USB power at the cable’s HDMI end.
- Desktop users who want to place the computer away from a 4K display while sending video and audio over one long cable, at up to 4K 60Hz.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- Connect a USB-C laptop to a TV across a room for presentations or video playback; the 15 m run can reach the display without placing the laptop beside it, provided its USB-C port supports video output.
- Run a laptop connection to a conference-room projector or display from the presenter’s table; the long cable can span the room while carrying video to an HDMI input.
- Install a connection between a computer location and a wall-mounted display using an in-wall cable route; its CL3 rating suits in-wall installation, and the optical design is intended for long runs.
- Connect a USB-C laptop to a 4K monitor positioned far from a desk or workstation; the cable is designed to maintain the display connection over a longer distance than standard copper cables.
- Route video from a computer in a cabinet or equipment area to a remotely placed HDMI screen; the integrated adapter and cable reduce the need for a separate video adapter along the run.
