The StarTech HDMI2-CABLE-GRIP-20F is a 20 ft passive HDMI 2.0 cable for connecting TVs, monitors, or displays to HDMI devices, supporting up to 4K at 60Hz and 18Gbps. Its gripping connectors suit setups where a secure connection and extra cable reach are useful.
Recommended For
- People connecting a TV or display across a room to a receiver, PC, or other HDMI source who want a 20-foot cable and a connector designed to resist accidental loosening from cable tension or vibration.
- AV installers and IT teams wiring mounted displays, HDMI switches, or security systems where connectors may be hard to reach and a secure fit helps avoid unintended disconnects.
- Workstation users who need a long HDMI connection for up to 4K at 60Hz or 1440p at 144Hz, provided their source and display support those modes.
- People managing multiple similar cables who want the HDMI 2.0 capability marked on the connectors for easier identification during setup or troubleshooting.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- Connecting a desktop PC to a TV across a room: the 20-foot run can carry up to 4K at 60Hz when the PC and TV support that mode, letting the computer stay away from the screen.
- Connecting a 4K source to a living-room TV or projector: the cable supports 4K at 60Hz and HDR10, so compatible equipment can show UHD video and HDR content over a longer room-spanning connection.
- Connecting a gaming PC to a 1440p high-refresh-rate monitor: with compatible devices and settings, the cable supports 1440p at up to 144Hz for smoother motion than standard 60Hz output.
- Routing a connection to a wall-mounted TV, switch, or other hard-to-reach port: the gripping connectors are designed to resist accidental disconnection from cable tension or handling, helping keep the link seated.
- Sending TV audio back to an AV receiver or soundbar: the cable supports ARC, so compatible devices can return audio over HDMI without a separate optical audio cable.
